Buying MIT RE001

Hi all, anyone here is running on MIT Bridgestone RE001 bought

from JB?

Recently, I was quoted RM 235 ( SGD 98)/pc for Thailand Made

RE001 at one of Listed Pro-Shop in Molek.

Was told that For 15inches tires sold in JB, all are made in Thailand.

I was almost had my tires changed after hearing this but decided to come back to

SGP and gather some feedback before going back there again.

I have no objection against Thai Made RE001 but just curious

With slightly more then $100/pc for RE001 (195/50/R15), can we get it over here

locally which are all Japan Made?

The lowest I came across was $140/pc from Autobacs.

All Feedback welcome.

i came across 1 particular brand of tyre. made in europe is slightly cheaper than mit.

they say europe tyre a bit noisy and harsh, but mit is less noisy and cater for asian country climate.

u guys hv any comments on this...

my personal POV

if is world premium product ,they should have tight QC to make sure the quality is consisitent.

any any product especially tyre sold through the proper channel(authorised dealer) you are assured the quality.

and they cant run away from any quality problem surfaced.

Do remember the selling cost will be vary not only the tyre cost also the operating cost .

Thats my sendiments too.

As all are aware, when you pop this Questions to local Tyres Shop,

they will tell you MIT not safe, Blar Blar. So I never want to ask

this questions to shops here knowing the reply is like that.

No doubt about localisation whereby the product

actually performs better then compared to the origin

country.

will u pay 285$ for mit

or 240$ made in europe?? [:(]

i ever come across a tire shop stating that in singapore . should go for made in thailand tires cause it is cheaper, secondly the weather is the same so it will be more lasting and the compound is more suitable for our climate. he say for europe more expensive and the compound is not for our local climate. so i just listen to him change for the thai made rubbers and get some saving out..

did ask a few buddies of mine, mostly say in singapore just go for MIT cause it is more suitable for the weather..

It really depend on whether the tyre is made strictly for domestic market and developing countries or for export. If it's for export, the quality should be pretty similar, if not the same, as those made in home country/region.
