Hi,

It is a reverse and hit case. This noon time, while driving along upper east coast towards city direction, while waiting for traffic light at the juction of Bedok south ave 1, the Nissan lorry in front suddenly reserved and hit my car in the front. Too late after earing the reverse sound i have no time to react. The lorry driver came and said sorry, initially he wanted me to go to his workshop for private settlement which I have agreed. However after he called his company boss (it is a company lorry), he changed his mind and wanted to settle through insurance.

When I came to report the accident with insurance workshop, I was told even though it is not my fault, the situation makes me in the disadvantage, and he said based on his experience, 9 out 10 reserve hit case, the reserve driver will deny and the one being hit is made to pay. This is extremely frustruting. [mad] And if I make third party claim and lose the case in the end, I will have to pay all the repair cost by myself as my insurance company wont pay if third party claim fails. So they suggest do own damage claim first, if other party deny, at least I can have my insurance company cover the repair cost.

There were two cars in from of lorry in the same lane, and another car in the side lane. Mine is red Latio sport. If you happen to be at the scene, appreciate you could pm me, your help is deeply appreciated.

thanks

Hi Frank,

Just your luck, the driver's report is sure going to say that you hit him from the back rather than he reversing ang hitting you from the front. Unless you can get witness, I agree with the insurance company's comment. You are going to lose .... Suggestion is for you to look around for the cheapest repair and pay out of your pocket.

I have a similar incident in the past and this car reversing and hit the front of car and try to "run off". I ran to stop the car by standing in front of the car and the farking bitch has the cheek to say that she did not know that she hit my car. I had witness on the spot as well but at the end I also LL and pay for the repair as she refuse to pay for the repair. And the husband thinks that I was trying to rip them off. I could recalled that they are Indonesian and staying at River Valley area.

I hope that you can find some witness else, it would be real tough for you ..... blame your luck, there is nothing much that you can do. It is your words against his...

Good luck...

Did you ask him or did he tell you why he reversed? This important info may be useful to include in your report.

Hope someone who witnessed your accident read your thread.

Good luck!

Sorry for hi-jacking this thread as I can't start a new thread yet. I too involved in an accident on 15 Oct 2010 at about 10 25am along AYE to town before the exit to NUS. I'd filtered from 2nd lane to 3rd lane with the vehicle behind at lane 3 saw my signal and had slow down for my switch. However, after switching to 3rd lane and travel for about another 20 to 30 meter, a motorbike crash to my left rear side cause damage to my bumper and left rear lamp.

But in this case, the motorbike driver claimed I switched abruptly without seeing him but I did saw him even way behind the vehicle who gave way to me. But the law is always biase in this case especially involving motorbike. I too hope if there is any kind driver on that day who witness the incident, would kind enough to give a witness statement to what you saw. Now my workshop also said that it is also disadvantage to me eventhough he'd hitted behind my car but the law always look at car watch out for bike kind of scenario. Any kind bro who witness please do drop me a note. Thanks

Asked him, he said he cannot see my car behind (his lorry is full load blocking his rear mirror).

But now the guy is confirmed denying because I called him and wanted to record the phone conversion when why asking why do you reverse, but he is obviously prepared and avoid anwer that question (said busy and hangup the phone)... After that I sms him and told I submitted video clip and asked him better be honest. Let 's see how the things come out.

I am really thinking making a police report now, would that help in any way?
