How did buyers manage to purchase car insurance?

You don't need to be the owner to buy car insurance. In fact, anyone can buy insurance for any car.

Eg. I can buy insurance for your car. I put myself as the driver and you are the owner. Remember that the driver need not own the car and the owner need not be the only driver.

If they have taken a car loan, may not be so messy as the finance company required that any existing outstanding loan to be cleared then can transferred. The biggest mistake is they paid cash, which allows these scrupulous dealers to play with time. I bought my 5 yrs old BMW 520i at $73.5K 100% loan last year. Look for my own finance who did the previous owner full settlement and issue a Form D from my finance co. Everything completed professionally, let the banks/finance co. who very kiasu to share the risk

Buying second hand car needs lots of luck. If not, stupid things like this will happen.

NOT only second hand car dealers, AD also no better. Those who buy latter get their car earlier that those who bought earlier. Double standard?

Yeah bro that's the sad reality of life. All we can do is to hope we r not so suay when buying a car. Cos all dealers will seem nice n it's up to our instinct whether to commit or not. [:(]

Such dealer also got in Singapore. This is the type of news we expected from other places.....

This is obvious cheating.

Cannot blame the guy as buy/sell car in Singapore tends to be very complicated, & he probably thought Singapore dealers are an Honest bunch.
