Hi All,

Which is correct for wheel balancing?

Should the wheel be balanced with all the old weights removed first

or

Can it be done with old weights on and then adding or removing after it goes thru the machine.

Hope you guys know what I'm saying.......

Remove all existing weights. Match yellow dot on tire to tire valve stem before inflating tire. This will greatly reduce the number of weights needed after balancing.

i see......

was wondering what those color dots on the tyres was for....thks!

my lady colleague just got her car tyre balanced & she claims that the old weights were not removed at all.

& some more were added.

The car steering wobbles even more now around 80km..... wonder if the shop knows what they are doing???

where does your colleague stay or work? If near to Bt Batok, can go look for Ah Ho. He's good with tire and balancing stuff.

most important is perfectly balanced, never removed old one add new one and just removed old one is not important.

but if old one removed and add new is a PLUS for that shop.

SO you pay peanut you get monkey(every thing is COST)

some shop dont even bother to balance your rear wheel (worse).

anyway if balancing is not ok just go back to double check ( no body is perfect ,give 2nd chance)

Latest wheel balancing done:

I removed each wheel from the car, wash and dry them, before installing them back to the car. The washing was to remove loose matters that may be stuck to the wheel/tire and affect the wheel balancing later (not all tire shop would do this wheel washing for you)

Next I drove to the tire shop to buy new tire, and have wheel balancing done after the new tire were mounted

If the existing weights are not removed, the wheel balancing may not be accurately done

damn,, just did my wheel rotation/balancing rotation today... the guy stick on extra weights but part of the weight "potrude" out from one of the rims.. any bro advise if that can last? am afraid after normal washing and on the road (dirt + water), the adhesive may peel off ( as part of the weights is stocking out, not in line with the rims), am worried the weights may loosen in the long run and drop out!

thinking of gg back them to ask them to redo

brother you are really free [thumbsup] ,got time and mood to remove all wheels to wash them before going for the tyre change.ask

why not you ask the tyre shop to do the washingfor you since they are going to remove the wheel from your car.

just to clarify again those old weight not remove it wont affect to balancing accuracy.

As mentioned is just the machine and skill of the tyre mech.
