Idling speed at park

fine in my opinion,

 

as long as it doesnt have unnatural or immense fluctuation in the rpm without AC cutting.

actually think i better clarify my question

 

i know the rpm range is fine what i find strange is how come idling goes up when in park or neutral ?

 

a sign of gear box problem ? but my autobox seem to be ok when driving though.

not at all dude,

 

mine goes up as well in both to around 1200-1300.

 

this has to do with the way the gearbox and ecu are setup. its perfectly normal.

i would worry if you saw the needle going down to 500 and then back up to 800 though...

or a sudden vibration when aircon cut in.

 

if your curious about the gearbox being broken can take it to an auto trans specialist like those in sinming and get a free diagnostic to alleviate your concerns.

Cause when you are at D, engine is working to move the car (there is load) and you are using brakes to prevent car from moving. At N or P, there is no load on the engine.
