Silver_blade Turbocharged December 8, 2010 Share December 8, 2010 Juz got update, St** quote Insurance 31K worth of damages. Waiting for insurance people to go down to bargain. I bought it at 50K plus, no chance to total loss liao. When considering if it a case of total-lost...they don't look at how much you paid for the car but how much the car is worth (usually quite a lot lower that the prices you paid). In any case, better not be a case of total-lost if you have taken a big loan to buy this car.....you will most likely have to top-up quite of bit of money just to have it scrapped. Krado Clutched December 8, 2010 Share December 8, 2010 Hi, guys added some photo, please advise. It's really safer for you to get a new car. Or, if you don't have cash on hand, keep it, but drive REALLY safely. Watch this:

Thanks You can check with your insurance. If you don't intend to get another car, then its easier to declare total lost and wait for your record to clear before buying another car. Else, you probably won't be able to buy insurance from another company if you have a total loss record. Premium will be extremely high as well. I have seen someone paying 8K for insurance because he claim total loss and no other companies want to accept him.

Timex1441 1st Gear December 10, 2010 Share December 10, 2010 Crazy. OMV also not 31k,repair become 31k?funny isn't it? i wonder how much of the 31K is for labour charges...if the engine wasn't damaged significantly, 31K does seem too high.

Passion 5th Gear December 11, 2010 Share December 11, 2010 Bro,scrapped it.Don't bother to repair,31k they confirm scrap. You see your OMV how much?If your OMV is higher than your repair, they'll repair as repair is cheaper. If repair is higher than your OMV,who in the right sense of mind will repair? Pea01 Neutral Newbie January 3, 2011 Author Share January 3, 2011 Happened to me too. Can repair. Get a reputable workshop who specialises in chassis alignment and measurement. Still, it won't be 100% perfect of course. But 90% - 95% or even more is definitely possible. U still driving the repaired car? How is it?Does it give u any problems? Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear January 3, 2011 Share January 3, 2011 I believe I could share your pain. One of my previous cars was hit by a lorry, but did not looked that badly damaged as yours. After repairs it was fine. However, every 3 over weeks later, the wheels alignment somehow became mis-aligned, after repeated wheel re-alignment done. Later I realised it was the chassis mis-alignment that caused the repeated wheels mis-alignment. Some damages can be repaired. However, the repair can be temporary. The damaged problem can repeatedly re-surfaced after some time, which I believe it is difficult if not impossible to claim from motor insurer, repeatedly for the same accident. Subsequent wheels re-alignment DIY since can not claim (actually in my case, the chassis repair did not last) I sold off the car finally
