Xers007 Supercharged December 4, 2010 Share December 4, 2010 Try this for your auto gearbox. After reversing, DON'T shift to P, instead shift to N. And then one smooth go to P without engaging R. This should solve a lot of thugs and jerks. Try it! thanks will try this...
Copen 1st Gear December 4, 2010 Share December 4, 2010 thanks will try this... No problem bro, how is it? Smoother?
Moredhel 2nd Gear December 4, 2010 Share December 4, 2010 Either gear lock or ATF still stuck in torque convertor. After stopping car, put to N, engage handbrake then put to P. Cfm no more problems.
Hamburger Hypersonic November 8, 2016 Share November 8, 2016 Rule of thumb. Engage P only at the last sequence when car is stationary and foot off the brake pedal with only handbrake engaged.
flashbang Turbocharged November 8, 2016 Share November 8, 2016 Rule of thumb. Engage P only at the last sequence when car is stationary and foot off the brake pedal with only handbrake engaged. Doesn't matter lah. As long as you release foot brake after pulling hand brake, it doesn't make a difference what pattern you want to use.

flashbang Turbocharged November 10, 2016 Share November 10, 2016 You believe you are saying the same thing as I did. Yes it is haha. But some people got a lot of pattern one... must shift to N first, then pull handbrake, then let go of foot brake in case car move, then finally shift to D. Tohto Hypersonic November 11, 2016 Share November 11, 2016 Yes been doing this currently n shifting fr P becomes easier esp when on slope. Yes. I had been doing this for a few years already. This will ensure car always lock on the handbrake and not on the P. For car with electronic parking brake, not sure does this work. as I never own one yet.

Perspectivism 3rd Gear November 25, 2016 Share November 25, 2016 Hi, My car also have this problem during parking. Whenever I engage R from D or D from R, the car jerks (no thug sound)... In addition, when I'm driving in Auto, when the gear shifts, I get a jerk (no thug sound) What's the reason?
Hamburger Hypersonic November 26, 2016 Share November 26, 2016 Mechatronics or solenoids are faulty, probably. Btw, what car please. If VW, that's normal.
