Mikelcy1963 1st Gear December 1, 2010 Share December 1, 2010 Hi, how is Autobacs' VANTAGE oil ? Is it decent enough eg, compared to c-----e (which they also carry) ? Looking at at either VANTAGE 10W30 or 5W30. The other oils they have are much much more expensive so its not in my radar. I know its cheaper and more choices if I buy it myself and get it change outside but due to lack of time, am thinking of just using what they have. Just want to know if their in-house brand is decent enough (going for quick oil change tomorrow then driving up to KL) ↡ Advertisement
Caravan 5th Gear December 1, 2010 Share December 1, 2010 Their c-----e very ex. Better you buy from giant or carrefour, then pay them labour to change the oil.

Mikelcy1963 1st Gear December 4, 2010 Author Share December 4, 2010 Thanks for the recommendations. Okay using OWS 5W30 Ecolight now. There is also this OWS "high-end" type but no rating ? Dare not use
Mikelcy1963 1st Gear December 4, 2010 Author Share December 4, 2010 Am curious about this ows oil. Not sold in major countries. Mainly SEA. Rather dubious. There's an old thread on this oil. No product or msds available. Not possible if it's German made. I think it's just rebadge but represented as "German oil". A couple of well know motor shops using it which I think is because cost is very low but mark up very high. Should have just use like ELF or SPC. At least it's not as dubious. Any other experiences with OWS ? reliable enough to go on long drive or not ? (Ipoh)

Did not do my homework Haiz. maybe just treat it as an expensive engine flush and change it out. Luckily postponed my KL/Ipoh trip to next weekend... Ghostami 2nd Gear December 5, 2010 Share December 5, 2010 So far for budget oil, I think c-----e is quite ok. But I still prefer Amsoil & Schaffier.
Crazecow Neutral Newbie December 5, 2010 Share December 5, 2010 Amsoil and Redline. Schaeffer also good. But I feel Amsoil is the best value for money. Forget about OWS, I tried their NA and turbo racing. Waste of money. Motul also waste of money unless you tracking. If you want even smoother engine beyond what engine oil can do. Add a bottle of the Novasyn Boron CLS additive. You will notice the difference. But its expensive so you may not want it. ↡ Advertisement
