anyone bought jewellery or watches from auction sites?

thinking of buying watches and wonder if its worth to go down and see?

i understand some are actually brand new ones.

how much should i expect to save?

You have to do your homework on the watch prices and see whether they are worth the buy. My parents are more experience in auctions I sometimes join them to see see look look. IMO 2nd watches in auctions have more competition dan jewelry cos I will see a few 2nd hand watch dealers there. Always that few familiar faces, they know at what price they would stop bidding. The condition of the watches can be questionable so there are some risk. On top of GST charges the ppl who organise the auction will charge a certain percentage on the bidded price, I can't remember how much but it can vary from auction to auction. That % is more dan the GST.

 

My mum targets more on jewelry cos she has the lobang to do modification. My dad got lucky and got himself a rare one year old AP watch at a bargain but still not cheap cos 5 figures. I mostly go and watch but never bid. Watches are mostly boh wah and too many competitors/bidders alike. Watches which are above 10k~20k usually have much less bidders.

hmm talking about used branded wacthes, i just happen to saw a shop located at great eastern, selling 2nd hand watches.

think the pricing is quite attrative, but diddnt see my dream iwc wacth.
