Lucaswh 1st Gear November 26, 2010 Share November 26, 2010 Mitsubishi 1.6 I assume it's the GLX? Get the manual one for this, it's not underpowered.
TEELEAVES 1st Gear November 27, 2010 Share November 27, 2010 it depends on how u drive, wat kinda of foot u having. heavy foot ot economical foot. are u the type that like to accelerate fast fast, only to stop at the next traffic light? or do u try ur best to avoid "jack rabbit" starts and coast to a halt.. I drive a Mazda 3SP, but due to my usage pattern (90% expressway) i can hit 13.5 lm/l of esso 5000. Perhaps if i am driving a vios, i can even hit 16-17km/l. but i lurve my mz3, its sturdy, safe, nice to corner, quiet (coz i rarely rev too hard) if u talking abt the GLX, its interior surely cannot be compared to the superior Mazda, which offers a quasi conti feel But GLX is also a no frills car, very reliable, but i not too sure on the FC.. can some GLX driver share on the FC? have fun car hunting! Zze121 3rd Gear November 28, 2010 Share November 28, 2010 Never get a GLX auto. For 3 get the SP.
Jeronlee 1st Gear November 28, 2010 Share November 28, 2010 did you managed to test drive both cars? although both cars may appear to fall into your budget and both made-in-japan etc, the characteristic of the drive is quite different. personally, i think mazda gives a more refined feeling, heavier door, better insulation etc so my vote goes to mazda for the driving experience. but if you're concerned with FC, lancer should be a better bet. questionedfish Clutched November 28, 2010 Share November 28, 2010 mazda 3 fuel consumpt higher than lancer, but interior nicer. lancer is one good workhorse though.

FC is on the high side for the mazda 3. Lancer GLX manual is not underpower at all. it gives you a very raw power. driving feel wise, it gives a trackie feeling. Sound insulation is s--t.. basically no insulation at all. if you like slow driving plus comfort, mazda 3 is the one. if you like boy racer feeling, like to mods and upgrade, then go for GLX. Bicolor 5th Gear November 30, 2010 Share November 30, 2010 can some GLX driver share on the FC? Based on a manual GLX I rented for several days at a time amounting to two weeks this September/October, average around 13km/l. Never exceeding 90km/h on expressways but moving off quite quickly at traffic lights and rather spirited acceleration at lower speeds and lower gears. Vhtfhwlego Supercharged December 3, 2010 Share December 3, 2010 I have friends which own Lancer & Mazda 3. Comparing old face lift. Old Lancer: No issues with maintenances, better F/C, basic car with basic function. Old Mazda 3: Good road holding, original sound system + multi function steering wheel which gives you a conti feel. It is a much more comfortable ride & being driven as well. New Lancer & New Mazda 3, never driven before so cannot comment.

If u wan buy any car, rem.. dun buy manual if u have the intention to drive a year or 2... manual cars demand in the market is very weak.. Mazda will have my vote! I really love the rear view of Mazda.. always a smiley ↡ Advertisement
