Gently kiss the bumper

I got kissed once by a mini-van during a totally slow traffic jam. The drive is a male AT, and he was talking on his mobile.

I looked at my car and it seemed fine, then I thought I still take down his particulars. After that I called a friend who is experienced in accidents (LOL). He told me did you check the sides of your bumper which I didn't...

After that I drove slowly, waited, and followed the van back to his factory. Then I checked my bumper sides and indeed it protruded abit, my car was less than 1 month old then.

After that I went to talk to that AT driver, wow, he totally bo chap and denied (I have fotos though). Pissed me off totally, and I asked to meet his boss immediately. He tried to chut pattern but eventually he finally budged because (1) all the office staffs were saying loudly, "wah, he accident again?" Meaning the AT driver is a repeated offender. (2) I said, if you don't want to settle privately, I will claim your insurance ; repairs, time lost, etc...

So what I am trying to say, if you bang into somebody and you know you are wrong, please take the responsibility...

Okay, thanks for reading the WOT...

I believe all of us appreciate and very thankful if you report any such observations to the Authority. You help make the roads safer (such drivers have an irresponsible driving and working attitude, so do not sympathise with them). Many thanks.

My car got hit by a lorry driver who forgot to pull his handbrake after stopping at the traffic light. 3 little paint chips and a dent on the top of the bumper. He admitted his fault, agreed to pay the following week because he did not have the cash at the moment. Took down his phone number, vehicle reg no and company name.

Resprayed and repaired the bumper for $120. Got the receipt with the actual amount paid, showed it to the other party, who paid as promised.

After hearing all the nightmare stories about fraudulent claims, both from the driver who is at fault the the other party, I didn't expect such a hassle free settlement.

And I supposed the lorry driver was also worried I would ask him to pay for a new bumper and medical fees! :P

He more worried the Police give him demerit points

Encountered this senario 2 yrs back

A man in his 40's gently kiss my bumper on a slope

I alighted to inspect nothing serious with only maybe some fine scratches only

When i was about to tell the man its alright let's move on

It human nature he'll switch on his defensive mode at this moment of time

But to my surprise he yaya papaya told me to claim against him

Without much words i took out my phone and snap some pixs and drove to my regular workshop

When insurance agent came down to access the damage repair cost

I asked the agent do u think i should or can i claim against him since its only some hair line which i'm sure can be easily polish off

Agent replied if he want u to claim against him juz claim loh

I claimed a brand new blink blink new bumper with spray paint

Thats great with both parties being satisfied

of course la, look at the percentage of auto vs manual, of course auto accident higher ma....

Has it ever occurred to you that this is probably due to the higher percentage of cars on the roads being automatic transmission ones? [cool]
