Neutralsg 5th Gear December 1, 2010 Share December 1, 2010 this morning i drove pass a main road.. from far i saw one aunty wanting to jaywalk halfway .. and of cause she saw my car too.. so i slow down slightly thinking that she might walk little faster.. mostly if i see people jaywalking they will walk faster when they see incoming cars. to my surprise this aunty walk so slow that i was thinking she thought she own the road.. so i tap my horn.. but still she walk slowly like shopping in orchard road.. jaywalk never mind but at least walk faster ma when there is cars.. please remind folks at home to jay walk with understanding to us drivers... While it is true in many instances that jaywalkers are simply jaywalkers, there are indeed some who may have difficulty walking quickly across the roads. Therefore, to all drivers / riders, do show some understanding especially towards the elderly and physically weak pedestrians. Drive safely and be a friendly road user. ↡ Advertisement
Latka 1st Gear December 2, 2010 Share December 2, 2010 Once was driving along Defu Lane at nite. Road was quite empty so was traveling at high speed. Was approaching traffic lights which showed green. There was this bunch of kids on bicycles, wanting to ride across. I was about 200 meters and wasn't slowing down but 2 of these gundus just took their time to ride across. About 50 meters from them, I highbeam the fellas and slowed down abit and 1 of them panic and fell down halfway across the road. Looked at my rear view mirror and cudn't helping laughing. Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear December 2, 2010 Share December 2, 2010 must be careful for some old folks who jaywalk with their back away from the traffic. pls keep an eye out for them. usually am more forgiving to them la. Middle-aged ladies also turn blind eye to traffic by walking crap-wise (with their back facing on-coming traffic) , when they see car coming towards them? Almost reverse over one lady dressed all in black one night when there was power failure at open carpark. Detected her presence by sixth sense? I notice more of them are walking with a limp (middel-aged also limping already). Suspect early stage pre-stroke from watching TV repeatedly after dinner. Perhaps health promotion board unable to stop SCV promotions?

Branteo Clutched December 2, 2010 Share December 2, 2010 I alternate between both roles frequently: - As a jaywalker, my school of thought is such: Motorists have 2 choices: Either let me walk through safely, ... or knock me down. As a motorist, my school of thought is such: I have 2 choices: Either let the kuku jaywalker walk through safely, ... or knock him/her down. No prizes for guessing my preferred choice in either scenarios.

Arthritis is one of the most common ailment affecting the middle aged and elderly and even some younger ones. Nevertheless, even if we knocked or injure a pedestrian who is able bodied, chances of drivers being charged for 'driving without due care' is inevitable. Therefore, let's drive sensibly and safely. Have a nice day!
