JessOng88 Neutral Newbie November 24, 2010 Share November 24, 2010 (edited) this morning i drove pass a main road.. from far i saw one aunty wanting to jaywalk halfway .. and of cause she saw my car too.. so i slow down slightly thinking that she might walk little faster.. mostly if i see people jaywalking they will walk faster when they see incoming cars. to my surprise this aunty walk so slow that i was thinking she thought she own the road.. so i tap my horn.. but still she walk slowly like shopping in orchard road.. jaywalk never mind but at least walk faster ma when there is cars.. please remind folks at home to jay walk with understanding to us drivers... I think i ride cow i reach home faster.... If that you have a BOV and racing towards them, they will mostly run . Once that I had mis-judge the speed on oncoming vehicle and once I turn out from the junction, I knew I had to gas the car otherwise the car behind me will have to slow down (but not to the extend of hard braking / e-brake unless he was dreaming). When I gas it, there were some jokers walking cross the roads (about 80m to 100m) away. I went into 2nd gear and "PIZZ". They all heard my engine and BOV and starting running across. I felt bad afterwards as I should not had done so. However if that I did not, I might be causing traffic to slow down.
Kelvinlev Neutral Newbie November 29, 2010 Share November 29, 2010 Think TS stated that he slowed down and allow the Auntie to cross the road, and I think there is a basic courtesy in doing that. Maybe shouldn't horn, in case the auntie had a heart attack suddenly, a flash of high beam should be ok though. Alright, not to target any driver nor any pedestrian out there. We drivers are aware of the consequences if a hit occurred and it is to our losing end as well, patience might prevent any disaster from happening too. We are also trying to allow jaywalkers to walk thru their path and we just have to slow down........... BUT, have you ever encounter this before? Slowed down to allow the burger to continue their jaywalking, going at very slow pace the moment you slowed down to let them pass, while walking, they stared at you, a look implying that "why you are on the road at that moment of time while he/she is crossing the road?" how then? We drivers did out part and so should they be doing the same. Unless I am totally wrong, then nothing to say.

Kelvinlev Neutral Newbie November 29, 2010 Share November 29, 2010 Ya, you are right, for old folks, we need to pay special attention while they are crossing anywhere due to their inconvenience.
