SINGAPORE: Cortina Watch's former supervisor, who stole S$7.6 million worth of watches and cash from the timepiece boutique, has been sentenced to nine years' imprisonment by a district court.

36-year-old Jerry Ee had earlier pleaded guilty to four charges of criminal breach of trust and one charge of removing stolen property from Singapore.

Twenty other charges were taken into consideration by District Judge Chia Wee Kiat on Friday morning.

After stealing the watches and money from the boutique's safe on Christmas Day last year, Ee fled to Thailand, but eventually surrendered to the Singapore Embassy in Bangkok and was brought back to be charged.

At that age, you will realiswd your childhood innocence are all lies!!!

The only truth is to show off your conniving skills to get to the money fast!

I agree! This is the age of the 'midlife crisis'.

One of the triggers of midlife crisis is that you realize many of the ideals you were told and you firmly believed in, are all lies [laugh]

Best examples: Keep on diligently working hard and you will be successful in life; Study hard and you will have a good career; Be honest and upright in all your dealings and you will be rewarded *giggle* (any more??)

For many people, it's like 'yeah, so what?' after realization sets in. But for a few, it can mentally unhinge them to the point where they do foolish things that they think they can get away with. Making up for lost time and opportunity.

at that age, you either make or break it

...Or you can keep on 'cruising' at your selected altitude. I believe this is the path that the majority end up in.

Maybe that is the age where you want to show people you are the one who made it in life, thats why the urge to do such a thing is high?

I feel that media play apart, flip newspaper will often see successful stories of ppl, how rich they r, how they make it in life, these ppl always in the 30s to 40s, u seldom flip newspaper read abt story of poor ppl, how jia lat their life etc. Most r gd news, some ppl in these age grp read already will feel they themselves very useless in the society and they know themselves they also no hope of making it big anymore at this age.

Unfortunately, I have to be honest with you ...by that age and being in the Poodle Force, yourself most are unlikely to make anything out of their lives and they will be given the 'pink' slip at 45.

Which really kinda explain why all of them are so disenchanted with their jobs.

They see no rewards waiting for them or their master really taking care of them till retirement and worse still....know that they will be unemplyed by 45!

Even if they do get another job...it will be a far cry both in respect and pay for them till they call it aday! [:(]

that is why you should be kinder to them for making this sacrifies instead of talking bad about them.

like calling them white ants. when the one breaking the law is us. [laugh]
