most of the time i get stuck at JB side not Singapore side

depends on timing.. for me, i get stuck at Singapore side most of the time. Artificial congestion.. multiple humps, merging lanes and boot checks.

Timing is important although sometimes it can go haywire. Came across a few times, friends say jammed but one or two hours later no traffic jam and vice versa.

Sometimes it's due to change of shift. Singapore side changes shift at 0900/2100 and Malaysia side changes shift at 1000/2200

If weekends I will go in by 845am if not the jam will start to build up from JB side. Normally I come back by 6 no jam at both side

Shorter but what's the point? There's a traffic light junction in front and lorries always stop in the middle and block all cars/buses! I got stuck for >1 hr this morning and another 1 hr in Woodlands Chkpt.

Like to share what I saw on small section of Straits Times 20/11/2010. The temp route [2.1 km long] from JB Customs to SG will be replaced with a new route [1.2 km long, 4 lanes]. Trials run on 23/11/2010, switch over on 26/11/2010, fully operational Jan'2011.

Therefore, expect some route diversions or delays. Drive with caution.

Just came back from Malacca and went on the new exit... No more rally like turns and the endless potholes along the old road... But just don't understand the truck crossing... Many Malaysian trucks cross the junction last minute and end up in the middle of the road, jamming the flow of traffic even if the light is green...

Came back this evening after shopping/marketing. There were 2 "traffic controller" with light-wand to guide the trucks at the traffic light. Believe this help to keep the "crossing zone" unobstructed.

being a regular go-er to JB, got to comment that the singapore standards of immigration flow is very very poor and slow compared to the one at JB. much can be done on the traffic flow exiting out of the final lane after clearance and also the clearance and checks itself. the bottleneck system needs to be reviewed. if u look at the malaysian customs, yes there is a one lane exit at the final one just like singapore BUT do u guys notice there is not much turns and corners to go for.

Cos SG side kuasi and wanna contain vehicles within its premises mah.... [laugh]

If anything wrong gets out from their side, the finger pointing game starts again

And there are so many humps along the way.... haiz

It's like a 4 lane expressway and 3 lanes are blocked off, leaving only 1 lane passable. The end result is massive jam.

But Pappies said the design of the CIQ for vehicles exiting the complex is for national security. Win liao.

Besides, what's burnt up is the cheap petrol from across the causeway which does not pay SG petrol tax. They boh hiu larn.

If anyone got heart attack, 100% die ! The design of Singapore customs are very very very bad.
