Ben5266 Supercharged November 23, 2010 Share November 23, 2010 yeah money is the main factor. that is why i will go for touran. cause its about the same price as Stream and Wish. i go for touran for its low cc and high power. if you dont mind a smaller MPV. Freed is good too I am putting freed into my consideration too. selling at around 90K. Proton Exora is out. dont know why. although it look big, but interior not that big. Too bad, Touran 08 out 2-3 months after I bought Stream. Anyway, it was priced about $10+k above Stream then. Now, it is cheaper than Stream by $10k (for new stock stream). So, 101% certain, I will get Touran if I am buying an MPV now. ↡ Advertisement

Patrickmaniac Neutral Newbie November 23, 2010 Share November 23, 2010 Their strategy is to put out more VWs on the road and now, you dun see much touran around. So it make sense for them to suffer a bit but long run, free marketing. Btw, their profit margins are 20 to 30% usually, so they have deeper pockets than the japs dealers. Congrats. You must be very excited when you first see the price of Touran is lower than Jetta. Honestly, I still don't understand how VW could price Touran lower than Jetta. Same engine, same gear. Touran with better usage and flexibility. Good buy.
Patrickmaniac Neutral Newbie November 23, 2010 Share November 23, 2010 Thanks Bro. Are all VAG folks here at VAGSG forum too? Yes, they started with Polo at $60+k that killed Jazz. Then Jetta and now Touran. Maybe next year, Tiguan 1.4TSI for $99k? That will be cool.

That will be cool. Jetta 2011 might be lower than Toyota Altis if they following the thrend in USA. actually i was speaking to a VW SE. she was telling me, the reason why they kick the old VW AD is because they position VW wrongly. VW had always wanted to place themself as Mass market even in singapore. I am thinking the reason why they are selling their older model high is more due to a sudden large decrease in price might damage their reputation (as per suggested by VW USA when Jetta launch as a lower price). hence the most ideal way is to reduce their price with promotion or when new model come out. Maroon5 5th Gear November 23, 2010 Share November 23, 2010 hmm..act if the Wish were selling at 110k, with the higher cat coe, omv, 7speeder, bigger space, why is the touran sweeping up such a storm? maybe im conservative, i wil take the wish. Patrickmaniac Neutral Newbie November 23, 2010 Share November 23, 2010 I would think it's the driving style of the driver. Wish is not much bigger actually. 3rd row also cannot take in adult. so that so call extra size is a bit overated. now the advantage of Touran over Wish. Lower CC with more power. mean lower road tax, FC with more power. lower insurance. Safer (this is base on assumsion as of now as car not NCAP tested yet)
