BY my own experience, when i bought my 1st car, '91 civic from this certain dealer. i had some minor problems with the car. The dealer referred me to this mechanic. From there, i had to start changing parts. First was the air-con condenser changed 2x, then the gasket, head, electronic board, etc. i made endless trips to the workshop. I realised something fishy was going on. I suspected that the car was taken to the mechanic in the first place before i bought the car and the working parts were replaced with minor defective ones. At the height of my suspicion, i realised it was a scam and i left the place in a hurry. I din even pay the last bill which came to about $800 when I had already spent almost $2k on repairs there. So to all, please beware of not so reputable dealers. Juat a word out to all unsuspecting car buyers.

Thanks fr highlighting to us.

Maybe u can give a good hint e names of e dealer n ws involved.

Thanks.

Thats why i say if u want to buy anything in SG, u better b very careful cos there r so many crooks n conmen trying to sell us something or other.

Only advice is to be careful when sending car for servicing or repairs. If it is not broken, don't fix it, just follow the manufacturers' recommendation. A lot of so called products that claim to improve either the mileage or power and even comes with a limited period of if you are not satisfied you can ask for refund. Fact is usually if we try for refund, there be a surprised look on their face that there was no improvement and will persuade you to try longer. By this time, you will just forget about it and leave it alone if it did not impede the car performance. Same thing as engine flushing, it will also flushed away any lubricants protecting some vital parts.

if the makers themselves dont recommend it i say dont try it. alot of people do flushing, add in additives to their fuel like 2T oil to get that "anecdotal" increase in power and smoothness....

i dont really buy these... id rather add ethanol to up the octane

Is it a good idea to send the youtube link to AD and ask them if there is a preventive measure in place to ensure proper repair is carries out?

I guess no legal implication and actually the automotive association of singapore should play an active role as an industry watch dog to ensure the credibility and integrity of service provider.

May be a petition will help?

I think if this kind of thing is going on, most likely e AD mgmt is aware n maybe it was them who instruct e workers to do it cos worker dont stand to benefit. Only e AD wil gain fm such practices in form of higher profits.

agree. They may charge higher, but no point doing things that may damage our engines and charge us. Maybe outside workshops more likely?
