Nullifi3d 4th Gear November 19, 2010 Share November 19, 2010 performance wise FD2R. To be unique then the renault lor... cuz you'll be the only idiot buying the car... [laugh] Hmm there really no need to insult Renault owners dude. If Honda's are your kind of car, then its cool. But to put down a brand by calling their owner's "idiots" really tells alot about yourself.
Tomaton Neutral Newbie October 6, 2011 Share October 6, 2011 The interior space of Megane R.S. combines these two essential components of automotive pleasure. Sport and comfort, that's why +1 to renault.
Versatile 1st Gear October 6, 2011 Share October 6, 2011 Why not taking into the cost into consideration? Definitely a japanese will cost lesser compared to conti cars if you want to track for more than a year. I would suggest CTR anytime.
Hondauto 1st Gear October 6, 2011 Share October 6, 2011 Megane RS for me. Torque can be uprated to 400nm+ with min mod.
Cluboxed 1st Gear October 6, 2011 Share October 6, 2011 (edited) both are great cars with superb engineering.. comfort wise..go for renault rs as ride on ctr is harsh.. TC cars are easier to mod to have significant power gains but not NA cars... Edited October 6, 2011 by Cluboxed

Mecontle 1st Gear October 6, 2011 Share October 6, 2011 (edited) Why suddenly talk about Honda? By the way, you say until like Megane sport is only good due continental image, have you read the reviews, or sit in the car? Renault was F1 champion just a few season ago, & you can't say they don't know how to make a good sport car. Just saying don't judge too early. My freind have the new megane (not the sport), but told me the power delivery quite good even for the 1.6 unit. i hv seen a best motoring international episode, ctr driven by old man 土屋 圭市 , megane by hattori , ctr cant keep up with megane at track , maybe some of u ricer can beat the old man who knows Edited October 6, 2011 by Mecontle
SGCMWhiteKnight 2nd Gear May 19, 2014 Share May 19, 2014 I have owned the FD2R before, test driven the Megane RS, and now drive the Focus RS. My 2c: The FD2R is a lovely driver's car, even in stock form, it is sufficiently powerful. Though it is harder to get more power out of an NA car, if you learn to drive it, it is truly enjoyable and very controllable at or near the limit. Also it has 4 doors, so for family, this is more practical. All you need to do is some simple mods and perhaps lighten the car. Road feedback is excellent. The Megane is a nice car, but didn't light my fire. The powerband, shifting and gear position just didn't suit me. Its 2 doors and the boot edge is very high, so putting things in/out requires some work. Rear passengers will feel very claustraphobic. Turbo cars can be tuned of course and the power easily shifted, but I'm not sure about support/maintenance of a French car. The latest versions have electronic power steering, which IMO was a step back because you loose road feel. These comments are just IMHO. You are free to disagree/disregard. I'm sure there are people who will love this car based on the reviews. I test drove the Focus RS once and the rest is history...really FUN car IMO, and a bit of a rarity since there are only 10. If you are lucky enough to get your hands on one, drive it and you will know what I mean. Steering feel is adjustable and feedback is excellent. Pity all of these are FWD. ↡ Advertisement
