If he find a MPS and actually buy it, I will salute him lah all the way. MPS will be a good car to own. I driven the MPS engine on the CX7, very nice engine to be driven on a Mz6, it will be the ultimate zoom zoom

Haiz.....the Elusive MPS to complete my collection. Should ask if Siewss can sell to me cheaply :)

Quite OK lah for a non performance car. Just lowered the car with a good combi or coils, and the top tower strut, that should be OK already. Upgraded BBK and a good 17s or 18s will do the trick too. That is all you should do on the car. Dont go and do any silly things.

Went for servicing today, was told similar things by workshop.

Lower control arm bush damaged, need to change the whole arm, cannot change bush only.

Send car to Mazda today and after some test driving by their mechanic, told me that might be the lower arm bush giving way.

It will cost abt$250 replacing it exclude labour which is abt $150...

Anyone replace this before?

I'm a bit hush hush about this. Make sure you get them to show you proof of it giving way. Show you new set vs your current set. I've had experience with other workshop on upper arm. It turns out it was the problem but I've spent much on buying the replacement item. Sound still persists and I don't know if it'll ever go away. Worst is I get mechs telling me "this kinda thing.. can only change and test to see if the sound is still there"

Updates.

checked that the car was fully serviced at AD, now pondering whether want to spend $$$ to change the pair of lower control arm. Tyres also due for change soon.....

Old mazda 6. Nearing 120k.

How's your check? I hope the previous guy has changed some of the wear & tear items.... Urs the 4speed SA or 5speed SP?

Just take note that some mechanics will just recommend change based on Odo.... If u r going City Auto, ask the admin gals if your car has done any servicing there... They keep computer records

Neutral Newbie

Hi All,

Driving the "lau 6"..
Any bros care to share their experience wrt lower arm replacement..
Which 1 gave way first, lower front (straight) or the rear (curved)?

How about the upper arm?
Do they wear just as fast?
How much did they cost and which workshop do you recommend?

Thanks for sharing.

Guys,

Anyone have any idea if there are after market brake pads that will fit on a stock GH 6? AD told me my brake pads are running out so I wanna change it to something like the EBC greenstuff pads. Any input on this will be greatly appreciated. [flowerface]

hmmm.....bring it back to workshop - try CityAuto if you do not have a workshop

Hopefully it is just a solenoid replacement

i nearly bought a mazda 6 a few months back, went to test drive the car but ended up buying an accord instead

a few things i noticed, several models of m6 have white leather interiors, this leather will look white under bright light but do take notice carefully as the color might already be turning grey

the car isn't very powerful as compared to similar priced cars - accord, legacy

interior is spacious and suspension is good, i liked the m6's interior far better than other competing models, however the chevvy epica feels like a far bigger car

brakes feel funny, probably its just the test car i drove

overall i liked the m6, i only ended up buying my accord because the dealer i met is a real gentleman else i might have ended up with another car

Please dont call the Mazda6 , M6.......

Hear already can cringe and develop goose pimples

Anyway the current mazda6 is definitely a strong contender

i've sent the car to a workshop already. they couldn't find any problem. they flushed my transmission oil twice.

end result: the lights still go on and off and the car still jerk.

aiyo.. anybody met with similar problems?

Dude , it could be a case of electrical issues with lights but since you mention that it slips than it sounds like your clutch plates could likely be worned out.

Whats your car mileage.

My previous car , a CLS350 had occasional gear slips, the previous owner got the gearbox rebuilt and torque converter replaced before i bought over the car. Cost him $6k.

During my ownership, the car was tip top , superb.....

I guess thats the good thing about buying direct from owner.

Got more integrity and you know whats wrong with car.

Back to your issue, i think you may need to rebuild your tranny or get it completely replaced depending on how old your car is.

Hey...did u send to a Mazda Specialist workshop like CityAuto? You may want to try that to get a better advance. Transmission fluid is usually not the real cause of it. And Mz6 tranny and GB is quite steady

Also get them to check the Solenoid to see if there are issues with it. This is a electronic device which may need to be replace.

+ Check your clutch + tranny like what the Throttle2 says.....
