hi all,

been trying to solve this problem of mine. muffler of my 08 mazda 6 is giving me irritating sound. that ting ting ting sound whenever the muffler/exhaust vibrates is killing me. tried to change it but it appears the whole of sg has no stock. agent no stock, stockist also no stock. called a few scrap yard people, NO was the answer. anyone here can perhaps suggest alternative solution? go with aftermarket muffler? even this.. not many carry for mazda 6.

any suggestions? thanks

Hi, having same issue with passenger side dashboard. Tried cleaning with various solutions but no use. Any help or advice from anyone would be most appreciated. Thank you.

I got exactly same problem on passenger side...it's soft and if you press with fingernail, it creates a mark...in hot sun, it becomes sticky...

Maybe getting a workshop to weld the exhaust to the mounting points would solve the vibrating issue?

I think we need to either change the whole dashboard, or get something to cover the mess.

Last time when I get ting ting ting sound from my exhaust is because my catalyst KAPUT.....the internal piece broke off and caused the issue. Pray that it is not this......very ma fun man.

For Mz6 parts right now......really got to hunt the scrap yard. Previously I manage to find various parts from the scrap yard 2 Woodlands industrial zone or order from overseas and ship in.

But get a proper diagnosis of the issue first.....scully like what Genes say....it is just the mounting points (then just weld back ...cheap cheap)

hey guys, thanks for the replies. Mine wasn't a result of the cat converter. So phew!! It was the muffler. Apparently, the fibre glass in there has kaput. So whenever the exhaust vibrates, the sound will come. Anyway, I got it fixed. Will probably last another year or so from the look of it. In case, if anyone face the same problem and would like to change to the original muffler, can always buy it from Mazda Malaysia. I was quoted RM1.3k per muffler. Last checked with Mazda Singapore, it cost SGD1.2k. The sound is now gone but I get a more bassy sound from the pipes.

Any suggestions on what we can use to cover up the passenger side dashboard?

Saturday was real hot and was driving around when I noticed that the dashboard (passenger side only) became a bit sticky again. Need something to cover it up else it might just melt away like a glacier [:p]

Is it really necessary to change fuel filter on Mazda6 @60K km servicing?

Or can we live with it cuz our petrol quite clean?

So far......frankly....the last 2 time when I changed by my fuel filter .....the filter looks very clean! I changed at 100km mark

But just to be on the safe side. Change it at 80 or 100km at least.

Go to the mazda service centre in JB. I think permas jaya. They will fix it for you. That price I was quoted include labour for installation.

Any one changed suspension before? If yes, can please share brand, model and price? I think mine's really horrible now. Even driving over an uneven road i.e. curve in surface I hear knocking sound coming from the front. no such noise from the back. originally, I was told my upper arm was loose. after changing it, the sound is still there.. angry!
