Hi all bros and sis,

I was looking at this used 09 mazda 6 HB.

Is this a good buy? I find that HB model looks nicer than sedan.

http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.ph...491&DL=1034

This is AN EXTREMELY bad buy with a $689 COE value.... u r paying on par with other Mazda 6 of the same age but with a much lower paper value...

When it's time to sell your car, no dealer will offer u a decent price...

rem, ur COE value per year is only $68.90

unfortunately, but I dun see many 09 mazda 6 on sale. Not to forget, this model has lower mileage of abt 60K.

In this case, what do you think should be a reasonable selling price?

My rationale is, I dun mind lower COE but of course, selling price has to be reasonable.

Most of the other mz6 are 2008 models and their price range is also 70+K, although COE is higher and comes with higher mileage.

I am considering.

If u are ok with a higher dep and poorer resale value (assuming u nt driving till scrap), u may want to confirm the followings-

1. Accident free? Any inspection report or allowed to drive to own trusted mechanic to look see look see check check?

2. Any full maintenance records frm AD? To verify mileage and make sure ride is well looked after.

Sometimes, if u can wait awhile, another better and more reasonably ride will come by....unless die die need buy now type of urgency....just my tots.

Safe ride n gd luck in yr search....

Cheers

The HB model is quite rare and it scores very well in terms of looks.

I have a friend who has a red one....and it looks amazing! Very sporty, and the spoiler looks very matching with the car. I hate those overdone spoiler.

I sat in his car.....very conti feel. Very firm over bumps.

Great car.

no problem. i dun need a ride urgently, but i thought this will be a rare find for 09 model and the mileage is on low side.

since some bros mentioned on the low COE value, I sounded out the dealer who is very willing to neg on the price, so I was thinking what a reasonable price should be, so that I dun lose out too much. Understand paper value will be low, should I sell it later on, so I can accept if selling price is lower.

Otherwise, if I drive till scrap, will the low COE really matter so much?

(edited)

How much dep is "reasonable" is often subject to e deepness of one's budget or pocket.

This particular unit end of run value is est $11.4k with close to 7 years more to go. Eg if sale price is $74k, then yearly dep is abt 8.9k or 9k and mthly instalment of 1k+ with zero down....which, to some mayb too high for a jap ride....but u are e one paying, so if u hv test driven and really enjoy e ride.....plus e pointers mentioned in my earlier post for yr consideration, then u will b happy to close e deal.

Use e loan calculator on yr ride's page and play with sale price to knw mthly instalment, dep etc....these days, it is all about how much dep or how much one is losing that makes a ride "cheaper".....

To me, a "reasonable" sale price wld be 71-73k....but that's just my own pocket talking....its yr call.

Safe ride n hope u seal a gd deal....

Cheers

this car has been on sale for a few months already, i first saw the advert in jan if i'm not wrong

so the car has been sitting at the dealer's for coming to 6 months now while other m6 that were on sale in jan have already been sold

do get a reliable report on the car if you intend to purchase

mazdas are generally harder to sell but not that hard after all

I have checked. actually, it's sold already <_<

But I notice used mz6 generally sell at a cheaper price, as compared to camry or accord, so I'd just like to seek opinions on the whole if mz6 is still a worthwhile buy.

The way I look at it, I really like the car's driving characteristics and outlook of the car which is probably one of the very few jap executive saloon cars which does not look like an ah pek car.

On the point regards to the fact that mazda are harder to sell, I checked with car dealer the other day who mention that some'd rather not take in toyota cars as compared to mazda cars as toyota are just too common and they have lots of them in their list, so they'd rather take in mazda which is not too common. Food for thought, indeed, huh?

another car that i was looking at before i got my mazda was the new subaru legacy, that car is as valuable on the 2nd hand market as a mazda 6

both start off as high as 160k but come down by at least 40k within a year

can consider buying that too, but the interior and the drive won't be able to match the mazda

the engine might pack more punch than the m6 though

why not go for 2008 mazda 6 r hb? there's quite a couple of it on sgcarmart.

I am considering and notice that most are 08 models.

I was hoping to get a newer model but only left with the one 2009 model which is sold -_-

I compared the price of 08 mz6 hb and find that their price is on the high side for 2008 model, considering the COE and OMV.

Dun u guys think so?

2009 mazda 6 hb is very rare. visited mazda motor during early 2009 to enquire about it. they told me that mazda motor no longer bring in mazda 6 2.0 hb anymore and they are clearing their limited stock.

so i think wont be easy to find a 2009 mazda 6 hb in 2nd hand market.

the hb model is also at least 3k more expensive on the 2nd hand market than the normal model

i was interested in the hb version but the price really put me off, the only difference is the rear spoiler and the boot access but 3k is really too much to pay

yes, I checked that mazda are bringing in only 2.5 for HB model.

Wonder if that will hamper sales further since HB looks nicer?

acutally, if one is really sincere, can neg with the dealer/owner on a lower price.

IMHO, the HB model is really nicer than the sedan model
