Crazecow Neutral Newbie November 14, 2010 Share November 14, 2010 I thought cabbies are the most experienced, daring, ferocious drivers on the road? When they drive, they are the king of the road. Now when it rains, their balls shrunk till till they have to hog lane 1 and travel at 50KM/H and brake at every bend on the road? Just kana today on ECP one stupid white colour Toyota Crown cab hogging lane 1 and travel at barely 50KM/H creating a train of cars behind...... ↡ Advertisement

Xefera 6th Gear November 14, 2010 Share November 14, 2010 could be one of those semi-retiree who takes up the call from govt to continue slough out the rest of his life. sometimes i really wonder if the cab companies should rethink about issuing licenses to these pple. not that i have anything against them, but i fear more for the safety of the passengers and other road users. So many cars queuing up behind and still refuse to move to lane 2....... Then some even have to overtake from the left. So dangerous..... If you are not so observant about taxi drivers, take another look. Many are in their fifties (the generation which are quite ignorant about their health), too nervous drive a little faster on wet road. Perhaps a little too slow to filter to Lane 2 (got caught in Lane 1). No escape for them. They have to drive like sitting ducks inside their respective taxis until they see red light, then stop (laugh)

Vinceng Turbocharged November 14, 2010 Share November 14, 2010 The Toyota Crowns are running on skinny 175R14 tyres and there is no ABS. Toyota Crown taxi drivers have told me about how they had skidded before on wet roads, hence I suppose they are more cautious. The Sonatas some with 215 tyres, hence they may be more daring even on wet roads.

Avant_stealth Clutched November 14, 2010 Share November 14, 2010 must admit..if the guy behind me not following me too closely, i usually will let it coast to the traffic light if its red cos i dnt see the pt of pushing further to the junction only to stop. Not eco friendly, ya? But sometimes red light then turn green light need to accelerate lor..

Nzy Twincharged November 14, 2010 Share November 14, 2010 I think their tires no grip. I saw before a sonata wheel spin when he accelerate off from traffic light. And he wasnt even accelerating very hard. The engine was not revving very high already have wheelspin.
Turbonetics 2nd Gear November 14, 2010 Share November 14, 2010 i met alot of sonatas slowed down when on bend(dry) and on wet floor. i think it is not meant for cornering
Coupecabriolet Clutched November 14, 2010 Share November 14, 2010 They don't maintain or upkeep your tyres properly. So many bald ones on the roads still running around, especially on the older crowns. Sooner or later also will give way lah, see either balls shrink first or accident first loh
Passion 5th Gear November 14, 2010 Share November 14, 2010 Crown taxi on RWD.175/70/R14 really cannot lah,so skinny for such a big car.Sonata at least better,205/65/16 or something like that.Grip wise at least more than crown.Suspension though not sport tune, but at least much firmer. When doing a cornering, should feel more confident than driving a crown. But problem with those aspirated driver, they cannot do drift with sonata.
