Carer 2nd Gear November 9, 2010 Share November 9, 2010 first, get yourself a backpack that is of good quality. u dun wan to find your strap broken half way thru thr journey. the north face is very good to start with. S$400 for a 50L backpack. if u intend to handcarry backpack on plane, take note of the dimensions. deuter has those backpacks with expandable storage, eg 50+10L. if backpack during cold weather, take note of clothings. usually not enough
Ender Hypersonic November 9, 2010 Share November 9, 2010 Did it at USA.. Very easy too, last time no internet, just bring along a guide book BUNAC travel guide with all the useful local contacts such as lodging, diners, place of interest.. Somehow lodging was never an issue. Always got vacancy when I walk in. At worst just spend the night at airport or train station.. I wonder if the Delta Pass is still around.. For USD$500 (more than 15++ yrs ago price), can get unlimited domestic flight on standby.. One moment in pheonix, next moment in Seattle. City hoping is so easy. Can save money by catching your lunch or dinner flight. Only time I rented a car was going to Grand Canyon..
Wangsiao Neutral Newbie November 9, 2010 Share November 9, 2010 Yes, it is very easy to do it in USA. Can read about hotel reviews online and choose hotels online at very good rate. Take coach to travel around within the country. We went to LA, and then from LA to LV, and from LV to SA. Visited the Disneyland while in LA and Grand Canyon whole in LV. Ender Hypersonic November 10, 2010 Share November 10, 2010 depends on how long and how young ts is lol. if just after uni, no prob. if work few years, used to travel biz class for trips and stay in biz hotels... NO WAY BRO! lol Back packing already means he's ready to go budget. Try to travel light, but carry a huge backpack as possible. Start with only half filled, if you are expecting to buy souvenir along the way. I collect T-shirts from each city, thus at the end, my pack was full. Most hostel have coin operated laundry, so no need to pack one week clothing, just a few days will do.
Ender Hypersonic November 10, 2010 Share November 10, 2010 You did it alone? Started out as holiday work in new jersey with a friend.. He decides to drive, for me I wanted to go Memphis and the missisppi delta blue museum.. Yah, for most part was alone, until we met up in Pheonix to drive to Flagstaf and grand canyon, and back to school together. ↡ Advertisement
