I am a fan of the Kitchener Rd Mutton soup. So far, I find it the best.

Another place that sells good chinese style mutton soup is at the Famous Toa Payoh Soya Briased Chicken Rice coffee shop (Blk 94 Lor 4). I chanced upon during one of the weekends. Its claypot style and its different from the Kitchener Rd taste. Soup is much thicker ..... oh... they only serve it during the weekends....

Just tried herbal mutton soup at Chomp Chomp today. Verdict is so so only.

Tried the mixed meat mutton soup ($5) which comprised of 1 mutton ball, some stomach, meat and soft bones. Soup was ok, but not to the extent of having a OMG moment. The rice was too dry, some may think that its not well cooked. Perhaps he used too little water.

Can eat it if u feel like having mutton soup while at Chomp Chomp, but not really worth the money for the serving portion.

Anyone know where did this 江记羊肉汤 at 227 Jalan Besar moved to?

Went down today and the whole coffee shop was closed. The cake store

got a notice saying moved to 209 but no mention on this 江记羊肉汤.

Agree that the stall at Bedok Interchange has dropped a little in standard, but still one of the better ones, compared to some of the other really forgettable ones I tried.

Is this the mainly green market and food centre building off Upper Bukit Timah Road and Jalan Jurong Kechil? If so, I agree, this one is really good [thumbsup]

Haha, this is subjective, everyone's taste is different. But on the whole, a good mutton soup will have a strong herbal flavour but not stink badly. The taste of the meat itself can be described as strong but not smelly, at least, the taste in the mouth does not really correlate with how mutton smells when being prepared.

If you go with a friend who orders it just try a little and see if you like or not [laugh]

waiting for u to come back we go makan with guan and the gang. hee hee

I agree, the Kitchener Rd one is still the best but lately its losing its quality, you are talking about the one opp the Scissors Cut.

Neutral Newbie

The Indian mutton soup at Upper Boon Keng market is also good (green signboard facing open space carpark). Taste excellent & not so oily. Brought many friends who don't touch mutton soup at all due to the strong odour enjoy it.
