DACH Supersonic June 18, 2018 Share June 18, 2018 GT-R donated to Tochigi policehttp://the-japan-news.com/news/article/0004517823 The Yomiuri ShimbunUTSUNOMIYA — The Tochigi prefectural police unveiled the latest version of the Nissan GT-R top-class sports car, made over as a police car, on Friday. It is the first time for the model to be used as a police car in Japan. The R35 version of the sports car, which began police work this month, was donated by a company executive from Tochigi city. Previous GT-R models up to the R34 have been used by other prefectural police departments in the country, including the neighboring Saitama prefectural police. The R35 police car will be deployed to Tochigi prefectural police’s expressway traffic police unit from Monday and used to crack down on traffic violations such as speeding and tailgating. The GT-R series is a luxury lineup with list prices of more than ¥10 million. All of the cars in the series are produced at Nissan’s Tochigi plant. The 64-year-old company executive who donated the car said, “I hope the car is used for preventing traffic accidents.”Speech ↡ Advertisement
