Wind30 Turbocharged October 28, 2010 Share October 28, 2010 haha yeah jordan led chicago was many people's darling whenever they meet utah jazz...i for one, was rooting for jazz then ahah.... in one of the series decider game 6 jordan sank a critical shot that beat the buzzer. i remember although the goal stood, tv replays indicated to me that jordan was milliseconds late in releasing the ball when the buzzer sounded. still referees always err on the side of the favorites! I also used to support Utah Jazz but it was dissappointment year after year as they lost to chicago.... I liked hornacek and stockton. I thought the mailman delivery not consistent leh sometimes. Wind30 Turbocharged October 28, 2010 Share October 28, 2010 So who will win this season???? Houston is actually looking good after they got rid of Mcgrady and hopefully Yao can regain his form. Magic sucks because they have Vince Carter who is like totally useless. They should remove that inconsistent guy and get some down to earth guy.... who can shoot 3 pointers. Actually suppose to have a NBA channel but somehow no news liao. they had taken off the nba channel idea already... i was also kinda looking forward to it as well... but guess the deal between nba and starhub didnt work out... but its fine, at least they are showing more games now on channel 202... gone were the days when i only have 2 matches to watch per week... Saycheese78 Clutched October 28, 2010 Share October 28, 2010 You have to give it to Shaq... so fat but so agile.. In fact, the fatter that lump of lard grew, the better he was.. I remember watching him in his fattest moment with Lakers (he was still rather slin at Orlando Magic). Shaq had the ball and back facing the basket. Opponent was pusing his back like pushing a wall, whole body 45 degrees already. Shaq just move backwards slowly towards the basket and slam. Opponent completely cannot stop him although he was blatantly pusing him. And of course no charging foul. I always thought it will be interesting if 350 pounds Shaq were to play against 27 year old jordan. Lard vs muscles. Speed vs power.
Acemundo Supercharged October 28, 2010 Share October 28, 2010 hehe statistically stockton actually dishes out more assists than magic johnson. but somehow people always remember johnson more than stockton. i think stockton is what makes utah tick. malone is not bad although 2 of them combined are still no match for jordon and pippen.... Chongster 6th Gear October 28, 2010 Share October 28, 2010 still remember that final series between Chicago Bulls v Portland - the portland pointguard (cant remember his name) says jordan game not complete because he cant hit 3 pointer. jordan replied that that is because he choose not to, and then next game nailed 6 3pters in the first half! was it in the same series where jordan was down with flu and could hardly walk but turn on a super first half performance? put clyde the glide in his place as history's also ran... Bladerunner 1st Gear October 28, 2010 Share October 28, 2010 Not forgetting: Dr J Dominique Walkins (although not much of a scorer but his slam dunks are awesome!) James Worthy (toma hawk) Magic Johnson (junior sky hook who help the lakers win one of the championship) Karrem Abdul Jabber (sky hook expert at 7ft plus tall plus sky hook... how to block... ) Byron Scott Michael Cooper (3 point shooter but of cos no match for Larry Bird!!!) and the list goes on... really miss that era of NBA!!! Chrispie 5th Gear October 28, 2010 Share October 28, 2010 you mean reggie miller? yes bro... i like him in a strange way.. somehow when he plays against jordan, jordan cant perform as well.. so i respect this guy.. Astrochucky Neutral Newbie October 28, 2010 Share October 28, 2010 Actually, i think reggie miller is the closest "pure" shooting guard i have seen. If i were to coach a kid playing shooting guard position, i would tell him to watch and emulate him. I can't hardly think of anyone who runs off screen and catch & shoot in split seconds better than reggie miller. One very underrated part of his game is that he can develop a hot hand instantenously, be it just entering the game or have not touched the ball or taken a shot after an extended period of time. A lot of superstars need to touch the ball all the time to be effective, so the moment they are not the number 1 player in the team, their numbers take a big tumble. While Jordan mainly played shooting guard for his career, his complete skills set and effectiveness in one-on-one/isolation situation make him the perfect small forward, in a traditional basketball team setup. Of course, since many years ago, small forward and shooting guard position have become almost perfectly interchangeable. Btw, during Jordan 1st retirement when he went to play baseball, it was reported that he told reggie miller that he was the best shooting guard in the league then (since Jordan himself was off playing baseball), and he should "ask for the ball more" and "take more shots". I think had reggie miller been more aggressive and taken more shots against the Knicks in 1994 Eastern Conf Finals, maybe the Pacers would have played against the Rockets in 1994 Finals instead. ↡ Advertisement
