XALmoN Neutral Newbie October 27, 2010 Share October 27, 2010 the grass is indeed greener over here, in melbourne, especially now that its spring. cars are cheaper, property is cheaper, weather is better (until summer) eating out is more expensive, but eating at home, is on par with the prices in SG. Pork is even cheaper, and beef? 28/kg for premium angus ribeye, I eat well,a nd i spend wayy less than in singapore. like australia.

You live in a thriving economy, everything will be expensive. That's the problem with thriving economies. Risks of super High inflation, expensive "commodities". A 'home' is a choice ultimately. If you cannot afford things, there is always Hinterland Wunderland. Go live there and you will then start to whine about bumiputra. Moral of story, whiners should not make their whinings public. What'll only become obvious is the display of retardedness.

I had a short stay there. Weather, I find quite erratic at times. Encountered a few gang fights at fast food chain too . But Polis fast to react to situation. The problem is, it is quite far away from home (SG). Regards,
Kelpie 2nd Gear October 28, 2010 Share October 28, 2010 aiya, the grass is always greener over there lah... There isn't a perfect place but a matter of give and take. I envy PR Malaysian, who works in SG but live like King/Queen in JB . Regards,

Regards, i've experienced people picking fights on trams, but the thing here is to pick your fights properly, why pick a fight you cannot win? Just escape asap. Melbourne is alright, but the fact is that, depending on how you look at it, it can be cheaper living in melbourne if you like cooking and stuff. But eating out at atas restaurants, well the price is about the same.

However, housing price is on the rise & ppl is moving out to further & further away. In addition, interest rate is also high. My cousin, who is a lawyer, bought new home in Point Cook. In term of weather, spring, autumn & winter is nice. But summer is terrible. I stayed in Melbourne for 3 wks from Christmas last yr. When heat wave come, train also breakdown. Stuck in train station for sometime. My fav town to stay is Williamtown. ↡ Advertisement
