Accident!! Need advise!!! Thanks!!

Hey guys... encounter a minor accident juz now... need advice from lao jiaos...

 

i was driving along a private estate small road when this car was attempting to reverse out from his house (landed property). as i feel that he did not see me, i stopped my car. afterwhich, he stopped too. seeing dat he stopped, i proceed on. but barely passed his car, he started reversing again n kena my rear.

 

my bumper was scratched on the right side, mud guard scatched and dented in, rim (brand new!! only a month old!!) and right rear door was scratched too... his damage worst but straight forward: juz change e whole bumper cos kinda gone alr..

 

he apologised and said that he tot my car had passed him alr (my lights were on). we exchanged particulars and his mum offered me to go their WS to get everything done.. e driver wants to report insurance, cos seeing his damage shld be quite costly....

 

i would say it is 100% his liability as he was reversing from house to main road (which i think against rules), n he bump into me after i gave way.

 

but wat worries me is if report he insurance, would it affect my premium next yr? NCD?? if he does report insurance, do i need to report mine also?

 

pls advice.....

we can say it won't but why believe us. Check with ur insurance coy safest rite?

Once ur insurance coy say Wont then u can go ahead without worries. No need scared insurance coy chut stun.

No mention did you agreed to the lady's suggestion to repair at their workshop and not your workshop (what if their workshop has got shoddy workmanshipo for you only?)

If he reported that you reversed into his path, yes you lose NCD, besides insurance claim (especially at their workshop)

hi guys sorry for late post in...

 

btw here's e update: we report to our own insurance on sat morning, with him claiming full responsibility... MARS came down took photo n statement alr... so now is i can juz go any ws or authrised ws to get my car done as will be claim under his insurance fully...

 

however juz found out dat my suspension kena also.... incidentally after sending my gf home at pretty late hrs, tot of winding down windows to enjoy breeze den scarly hear creaking sound from tyre as moving off... went down check tyres but seems nothing wrong... but after testing low speed, high speed, driving over hump n corner, realised it was suspension dat's giving out the sound.... guess impact on wheel eventually transfer to e suspension....

 

so no choice went back to him earlier today to tell him e new finding n also to confirm he'll take up full liability so for my side is juz simply send my car to my fren ws, get it done and my insurance will settle with his right?

Since its claim under insurance. No need to tell the other party. Just inform WS to change.
