Vinceng Turbocharged October 16, 2010 Share October 16, 2010 (edited) I did call up nigel n chk wif him the price for doing major 40k servicing. He quote me $315 for: 1. suzuki oil filter 2. engine oil (motul 5w30) 3. engine flush, engine treatment, fuel system cleaner - tat $55 package as ads 4. change suzuki atf oil (i believe is drain n refill method) 5. 25 pts checks I noticed there is no draining and change of brake fluid and fuel filter which are essential for major 40K km servicing. Adrianli Hypersonic October 16, 2010 Share October 16, 2010 one thing is, new cars under 3 years old, to keep the warranty, one has to service with the AD. So do you think it is worth servicing with AD just to keep the warranty ? Not for PI cars. Axio is a PI car. After the free servicing, I am off to my own preferred workshop. Yuan 6th Gear October 17, 2010 Share October 17, 2010 Not a problem to share but it in yishun. A very simple omo set-up but mech is boss n i find him very experienced n honest. Ive been using him fr abt 15 years already. Just search Keng Wah Motor n e details sud appear. Just went to my old mechanic yesterday to service my 100k mileage. Managed to identify some loopholes that my earlier mechanic had missed out or short-cut, even rectifying them. Hard to find such mechanic already. Guess I will stick to him from now onwards. He told me that he may retire in about 4-5 years time. Been in the industry for close to 40 years.
Forte3737 5th Gear October 17, 2010 Share October 17, 2010 If u look around, sure can find. My synthetic oil abt $6/lit. Filter $4.50 n labour $20. Some bro even got ws charge only $10 fr a simple service of oil n filter. I just cant imagine why many pple r paying hundreds of $ fr this? The SG motorist is really a very strange creature. thats why many small WS boss can afford to drive better and more expensive cars than their customers. yet the boss can say overheads are high etc....when in fact buisness is so good. This comment sounded so familiar. Are you someone under disguise coming back to MCF with another nick? CSI anyone? A workshop is a business. A business is meant to generate profit. If the owner earns money and feels like pampering himself with a car that he enjoys, so what if it is more expensive than the customers' ride? It is his own money and he has every right to decide how he wants to spend it. Simply cannot understand your mentality as you keep hubbing on this point. Rb1623m Clutched October 17, 2010 Share October 17, 2010 May be the workshop owner has to drive a Picanto to satisfy you.

I too worry my mech wil retire in a few years time, then i wil need to search fr a good mech again. But i asked him n he just smile n say no plans to retire yet. I just hope he retires after i decide to stop driving. My current car expire in 7 years. Maybe i stop driving then or if staying in johor i try to find a good mech there. Small ws boss not so bad. U see those big ws boss sure all drive big n ex car. Those r making e big bucks. Btw i dont think my ws boss even drives. I see him like take bus n i think he stay near his ws. Seems like a very simple person. My recent accident i sent fr repair at frens ws. The boss, a bit younger, drives a coe pressea. If i see boss very rich, i change ws cos then e boss is making too much $ fm customers like me. Thats why i dont go to AD or big ws cos they good at customers so ty can make big bucks. Mikail5858 Neutral Newbie October 19, 2010 Share October 19, 2010 that is good money sense, pisces. when i owned a conti, in order to cut down on ownership cost, i went to buy the parts myself and bring to ws for servicing too. but the parts are more expensive than yours due to conti. Agree and if you feel more comfy with branded oil, shell helix is about $55-00 for 4L Oil change labour is only our $5 sing dollars in jb. Fast and professional. Doubt if i will ever use a singapore ws again if i could help it.
