Most tire shop that do tire balancing got machine[scooter] to do high speed[on-wheel]balancing.

 

Cost abt $10 per wheel.

 

High speed balancing usually do when cannot balance properly off wheel due to unbalanced hub etc.

 

But sometimes difficult to balance is due to wheel not properly centered on hub. U might need to put e plastic center ring to center e wheel properly due to hub is smaller than center hole on tire rim.

 

This is usually with after-market sports rims. With original factory rims, e hole n hub have a better fit so dont hv this problem.

I sometimes think ADs have a competition on who can customers more. Ty wil become ''Employee of the month''.

There are many many others parts. Not just brake pad.

For 6 years, i never complain on their prices.

Until recently, i found out i am their chopping board!

 

Used to be a small workshop.

Now very big WS. Very famous. Always tell people they invest in technology.

U make a guess?

 

 

There r many motorists who know very little or nothing about e car they drive so dont want to take risk of doing something wrong n leave it up to e WS.

 

That is e premium u pay on charges for peace of mind, well almost.

 

Just like yr tv spoil n e part cost only $2 to change but e repair guy give u a bill for $100. U r paying for all his years of learning n experience, time n transport.

 

Unless u know how to check n buy n change e part yourself. Then u save $98.

since june 2009.

mileages 37,000km

servicing minor 200+- , major 500+-

Never once hit 600.

and mine is sevicing at AD, which is consider expensive...

yours hit 700++

yes maybe the size of beltings or wheels or shape or even the layout of the engine compartments... but engine wise theres not much difference in technology...

 

So think again if you think that "our normal" cars are really special.

I wil only trust them after trying myself n see hiw good ty really r.

My minor service of synthetic oil n filter is abt $50 incl labour.

 

If add plugs $19. Air filter $15. Atf $15.Never reach those amounts which most pple pay.

one thing is, new cars under 3 years old, to keep the warranty, one has to service with the AD. So do you think it is worth servicing with AD just to keep the warranty ?

In SG i think most drivers think their cars r special cos it cost so much to buy n maintain.

 

Thats why ws can take advantage n charge so much fr a simple service cos ty know drivers really sayang their rides n think by paying more means very special service.

not ALL ad are that stringent with those rules................ except a few which die die will wanna driver with their exorbitant service $$ if not, warranty void kind of rule...

that is good money sense, pisces. when i owned a conti, in order to cut down on ownership cost, i went to buy the parts myself and bring to ws for servicing too. but the parts are more expensive than yours due to conti.

That is e biggest joke cos their ''free'' service can cost so much n ty tie it to e warranty which sud not b.

 

Its so abvious the ad r just finding ways to hustle motorists.

 

I threw my so called ''warranty' in e dust bin when i bought my car n just do my service at outside ws.

 

In fact my car runs even better cos most ad use cheap n inexperienced trainee mechs to train on yr car n ty can really make a mess. And to think pple actually pay a premium fr this kind of service. Hahaha

Yes conti spares can cost more cos not many pple bring in cos cannot sell such high volume as jap or korean cars. So only can get fm agent which charge very high mark-up.

 

But now if u search around or go tru internet, u might b surprised that conti parts can cost abt same as jap n korean parts cos euro is down n yen n won is quite high now. Also now many contis on e road compared to last time.

 

But some outside ws scared to repair/service contis as certain things r different fm jap/korean cars but if ty smart, its still very similar but slightly different only.

 

Plus now many good n experienced mechs who used to work in conti AD hv come out n open their own ws cos ty know e mark-up is very high in conti AD.
