installation of frnt n back was $80 for me when i brought my own shocks to install at HL.

i believe that is reasonable, because the work involved is kind of tedious.

think must do some homework before you go down any workshop la ...

i got a quote from h**t L** on shock aborbers recently ... 2xfront 260, 2xback 240 include labour ... cheap?

anyway, i put on hold till i get more market survey :D

If reputation like this kind who charges by the bloody per spark plugs install... that means its a carrot factory...who parades itself with clean and big welcoming doors like McDonalds famous double arches...

P/S: to each his own who his money ends up with...

yea... imo its carrot shop... but den again... many rich and i heard even overseas owners bring their car in for mods and such..

no prizes for the shop name as i wont say a thing.. [:p]

Hi all,

just bought a 2nd hand 2.5 year old axio with 50k mileage and recently send the car to a highly recommended workshop for servicing

the bill went to 735 sgd... not sure if it was worth the $$, please advise if i was overcharged

service w/ FOC balancing of tyres and handbrake = 130

engine filter = 30

Orginal toyota CVT transmission oil = 110

orginal air filter = 35

coolent change = 65

engine flush = 25

aircon flush = 160

change of front tyres = 2 x 90 = 180

- it was claim that the CVT oil used by the previous owner is not tht correct one, with potential damage to the gear box

- the aircon "oil" was low and if we did not top-up, the compressor will spoilt and will cause 600 sgd easily. hence they recommended a aircon flush with coolent top-up

- the front tyres was more worn out compared to the rear tyres and we change the front tyres, (although i heard that we could easily swap the front tyres with the rear so as to increase the life span of the tyres)

went

One servicing at $555, excluding tyres? Sure got chopped. I paid package of $998 to AD for 4 servicing inclusive of parts. I just finsihed my 2nd package at 130K mileage. Hence my servicing cost to-date only $998x2 from day one excluding tyres and battery.

walau.... so chialat..... looks like i have to look around again for a "better" ws... any good reco from bro here??.. and to weixiang, u dont have to reco your choice since i wont go there as well in case u wish to reco me .... [laugh] .........

perhaps i should call and ask for more detail before going to them for my 80K in a couple of mths time........although i have been with them for a few rounds, i still can accept their "cost" but TS's encounter makes me think twice with such ws ...... and i did 'sense" that they like to reco this and that change but not too much to me but frequent to my bil... [:p]

any option is try autosaver....... ^_^

hU** L** used to be very cheap... $100 for Motul normal 5w30 oil, with oil filter, handbrakes and tyre rotation... [laugh]

I did call up nigel n chk wif him the price for doing major 40k servicing.

He quote me $315 for:

2. engine oil (motul 5w30)

3. engine flush, engine treatment, fuel system cleaner - tat $55 package as ads

4. change suzuki atf oil (i believe is drain n refill method)
