Minikong 1st Gear October 12, 2010 Share October 12, 2010 Would you trade a used wish for a 4-6 year old Oddy, Previa, or Voyager? trade for alphard!!!!!! the godly mpv that is even used by celebrities like jack neo it is so damn spacious! ↡ Advertisement
Ben5266 Supercharged October 12, 2010 Share October 12, 2010 Hee...thats the thing, I DO need the extra space...now a normal day going out we are six pax...plus the baby chair, if shopping space is at a real premium now. And then we do at times carry 7 pax (and this is also not rare)...if 7 pax cannot take baby chair If not for the gross cost of cars in SG I would have changed oreddy.... So this is really just a thread where I am trying to talk myself out of wanting a bigger car.... Based on your need. Oddy will only help a little. A little bigger bum space for 3 persons/child seat in the middle row. Slightly bigger boot space only. Only worth the hassle if your Wish is giving your issues, which I don't think a Toyota would. Get a second car.

Yattokame 4th Gear October 12, 2010 Share October 12, 2010 Honestly Yatto San, I took one for a test drive some time ago, personally didn't like the seating position, also the size is comparable to the Wish. But I do agree that the packaging is impressive, and I love the personality of Citreon - I can understand an Alfisti going for that French design langauge. For your needs, I was actually going to ask you to buy a Q5 when I was reading your earlier posts....but then I saw you had already got the Citreon... what's with the seating position? sorry ah first time MPV owner and I didn't try the others. Tom_kkh 1st Gear October 12, 2010 Share October 12, 2010 1. Roadtax for a 3.7 litre would kill me 2. Current car is super reliable and runs really well, get a used one, what am I buying my way into 3. Wifey may have problems managing the parking on the Voyager, which is my preferred choice right now 4. Voyager is slloooooow, even in comparison to the already turtlish wish u already knew wht u wan. At 1.89m, yes its too tall for some carparks in town, esp the older ones. e.g. Liang Court

Fast enough for 2.4L. 3rd row is very comfortable even for my long road trips in Oz... How much is one now?
Darryn Turbocharged October 12, 2010 Author Share October 12, 2010 what's with the seating position? sorry ah first time MPV owner and I didn't try the others. In the driver's seat I wasn't comfy, plus I felt that I was sitting "on" the passenger seats rather than "in"....felt more like a stool than a seat...but that was just a personal impression... Mustank Hypersonic October 12, 2010 Share October 12, 2010 let me come in and introduce the benefits of a bus yeah man! a mercedes vito bus 1) seats lots of people 2) runs on $0.90 diesel 3) bus lane king while the rest chugs along lane 2 and lane 3 4) insanely powerful diesel turbo engine (you know poeple are lamenting that their car cannot catch up with a cab) 5) buses and teksi seem to be exempted from baby seat requirement but i will still use one even if not mandated but there are downside too: 1) 70 kph (whoa man! this is THE killer point) 2) no face (colleague / wife/ mum / dad / brother / friend: WHAT??!?!?!! You wanna drive a BUS?!?!?!?!You must well say you drive lowlee!!!??!?!?)
Enye Hypersonic October 12, 2010 Share October 12, 2010 You could consider Mit Grandis or Nissan Presage which will be usually priced lower than the Estima/Previa and Oddy at the same age. if i am not mistaken, 4-6 year old Voyager would be 3.3 litres. Only the curent new model is 3.7 litres. But road tax and FC are for both.
Mingsect 5th Gear October 13, 2010 Share October 13, 2010 2) runs on $0.90 diesel where to find 0.90 cent diesel nowadays ? by the way, drive bus need vocation license right ?

You wanna drive a BUS?!?!?!?!You must well say you drive lowlee!!!??!?!?) Before I bought the wish I looked at a Fiat minibus....was tinking of registering it with an S Plate. The turbo diesel actually went pretty well, parking was easier than expected (with wheels at corners its easy to navigate when reversing) and the seats could be clipped in or out depending on what configuration I wanted. That was in the days of the arm leg + testical diesel tax...perhaps I should revisit now....

I felt comfy enough. Or maybe I'm transiting from the MINI that's why it felt so much better. as for the passengers seat there is a latch to recline them. The car in the showroom is always in upright position; gotta work on it. Yes, it's not as cushy like a sofa and I'd agree. FOr that you'd need the vellfire or estima or alphard. VW also has a huge MPV; even comes with a table inside.
Yattokame 4th Gear October 14, 2010 Share October 14, 2010 Hey I was also contemplating a mini-bus (it's cheaper right?) so that I can still get a sports car for myself what'd we need to look out for?

For the frog....it was some time ago and I could also be misremembering, I should go back take another look What to look out for in a van? I would be looking for height, does it get up to speed ok, what are the sightlines like for parking (but parking camera easy enough to install now, how is the rear door (the one at the back not the side) - I liked the Fiat because it had swing doors, some others are lift, how easy are the side doors to open and close, is it manual and does it have an auto for the missus....generally the same things as a car I guess.... Mustank Hypersonic October 14, 2010 Share October 14, 2010 but if you buy the s plate version, you will lose the bus lane capability already i think it depends on the amount of time your drive >80kph vs the amount of time you drive on roads with bus lanes ↡ Advertisement
