Wearnes, PA need carrots to fund the free coffee and cookies!

Outside workshop can do decent jobs one from my own experience.  As long as no longer under warranty, no need to be carrot.

generally Volvo and Jaguar not so easy on the pocket for major servicing

the better workshops outside are cheaper but not by very much, however still savings

that is also one reason why resales of these cars are cheaper than some of their conti competitors

Any cars that come under Wearnes (Volvo, Renault, Jaguar) - maintenance costs don't come cheap

Volvo (I never own Jags can comment) repair and maintenence very simple one. Outside WS most can do. Not rocket science. If you bother to order parts online when needed, can be quite cheap (relatively). Reliable too (for previous models, current models I can't comment).

No need to let Tor Kor grab you by the balls.

A few...FCP euro, IPD, volvoparts etc...

It’s cheaper to find out part number from those sites then buy off taobao for models available in China.

UK websites too, plus eBay, sometime Amazon. I like UK and German stores - they deduct the VAT and shipments are very fast and cheaper. I can get things from Germany in 2 days sometimes.

Dear all, I have recently purchase a second hand 2016 S60. I’m in a dilemma whether I should buy a extend warranty from a third party company. Can I also ask any for recommendations for Volvo Mechanics...thanks in advance for your advise.

Volvo relatively easy to maintain (previous gens). S60 should have Japanese Aisin auto, also reliable. Aircon also good. I don't have experience with the new series of 3/4 cylinder engines though. Old 5 pots are tough.

I can pm u my OK mechanic if you want.

When u say extend warranty from 3rd party means you're currently covered. Just curious if u hv any claims so far?

My guess is from a used car dealer that offered 3rd party insurance repair.

Remember the one in sin Ming where many bought insurance for the autotrans? Collected enough and run road back to jb.

If you search sgcarmart for volvo specialists

Gary engineering

and Motor advantage

Pop  out

Actually any decent sized reliable motor repair shops can do for volvo

While there are internet reports and comments on problems with S60, generally for a 2-3 year S60, should not be a problem unless unlucky u get a lemon. If petrol version, fuel consumption is not good

Best you send to Wearnes for a checkup for the first one, gives u a peace of mind

Volvo servicing will be more expensive than Jap cars thats for sure unless u have time to look for parts yourselves ad do your research

Hi all! A noob Volvo driver here who just purchase a used 4.5 yr old V40 D2. I’m looking for recommendations on workshops in the west for servicing. Another question is, many here suggests buying parts on our own - does that mean you send your car to your workshop, ask them check what needs to be replaced, source out the parts yourself, then drive back with the parts and ask the workshop replace for you?

Pay extra for the peace of mind. That's the main reason that I am still going back to Wearnes even after warranty.

Furthermore, outside workshop is not cheap too
