Timex1441 1st Gear October 16, 2010 Share October 16, 2010 according to wikipedia, the 2009-2010 Toyota Corolla was on both the floor-mat and accelerator-pedal recall lists for USA. Anyone heard about such cases in S'pore? ↡ Advertisement

Rtth84 1st Gear October 16, 2010 Share October 16, 2010 Think this model still lacks of the no-key entry and keyless startup. I think the latio has this feature ages ago

Unfortunately, reliability is not exclusive to Toyota. The Koreans are reliable as well. I cannot think of anything that sets Toyota apart from its competitors other than its massive recalls. Talk about reliability ? How ironic.

I cannot think of anything that sets Toyota apart from its competitors other than its massive recalls. Talk about reliability ? How ironic. yup.. korean make are reliable as well.. but not my cup of tea.. frankly speaking, this new altis.. has nothing to shout about...this dual vvti.... with an aged 4 sp gb.... there's no beneficial having a higher hp ride which no one drive to the max all the time.. they shall throw in cvt gb into the altis.. this shall improve FC... the truth about reliability in toyota is ah pek always utilize the 3 free servicing..and skip the rest...this definitely applies to my uncle.. hahaaa.. drive 3-5 yrs, change ride.. never go for servicing..tire use till fully slick.... drive till got problem.. and throw it to 2nd dealer immediately... no wonder he always say toyota is reliable.. Complexkid 1st Gear October 16, 2010 Share October 16, 2010 No matter what, Toyota will still be No.1. Look at Samsung trying very hard to catch Sony, almost but still CMI

Vextan 1st Gear October 16, 2010 Share October 16, 2010 there are cars that are cheaper than the Altis, but the Altis is better than these cars more than the price diffference, thats why the Altis still outnumbers them on the road e.g. Forte, Avante. And there are some cars which are perhaps (arguably) better than the Altis, e.g. Civic and Jetta, but they are much more expensive than the Altis, yet not that much better than the price difference they command. Thats why you see the Corolla has and will always be the number one seller. But different cars have different characteristics, so these other cars still will still have their market share.
