Anyone tested driving new Altis

i always think that the corolla (since its inception) and then the altis, is the best car in its class and price range. till today i still think so. you look at all the other car in its class, really no car can beat it as an overall package. some cars are cheaper, some are nicer looking, some are more powerful, but the corolla is the best as an overall car. there will be people who will strongly disagree, but the majority of car buyers cannot be wrong.

Whether BM bringing in 4 speed or 6 speed or "no speed", pple here still support and buy Toyota cars lah. So dun think BM will be bother abt this.

Toyota car need to up their level.If this Altis comes with press button at door to open door,press start engine,auto headlight,auto wiper,electronic seat,HID for all version,5 speed auto or CVT-i.It'll be a top seller.Mitsubishi Lancer EX already have the press open door.Allion already has press start engine,auto headlight used to have.Now si mi mah bo. Anyway,the old Altis I got from BM also OMV 16.3K. OMV not up,car price up and up.COE only up 32k compare to mine,price up near 35k.Not in tandem at all.

The ALTIS is Made in Thailand and I doubt that BM is buying them in YEN as the appreciation of the YEN should not effect the OMV of the car. Cars that are MIJ will be effected by the raising YEN and their OMV is higher nowadays.

 

The biggest disappointment with the ALTIS is the 4-Speed gear box.

They tried to quote it as" one of the many factors" to justify the insane rise in car prices?

Me not surprised.They main goal is to maximize profits like any other business.

Agreed, if Toyota car, esp the popular Altis can comes with all these high tech features, i strongly believe tht Toyota can even be top top top top top seller! Cos even now si mi mah bo, still can be top seller!

OMV 16k quoted by BM SE

16K is rather low when it came with more features than the previous version. Yen did'n't depreciate as compare a year ago. Suspect all those features are brought in separately and done up locally.
