Matoonia 6th Gear October 8, 2010 Share October 8, 2010 My budget is between 7-8k depreciation. Need a bigger car to put golf bag, so will appreciate advice for these 2 cars. Saab 9-3 SC http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.ph...032&DL=1000 Dep - $7.7k Pros - Saab is nice understated conti car, rare, lower road tax, powerful than 2.5L murano, higher paper value Cons - High maintenance? , never drive conti car before so not sure about the reliability Murano 2.5A http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.ph...206&DL=1000 Dep - ard $7k i think (not stated) Pros - SUV (am driving toyota rush now), lower fuel costs than Saab??, bigger boot space than Saab??, lower maintenance, reliable Jap car Cons - Higher road tax. For both cars left around 5 year, I intend to drive till the end. Take note I have also never driven a Nissan or Conti car before, previously only drive Honda and Toyota. Current ride RUsh. Kind bros pls give me your 2 cents... ↡ Advertisement

Deividz 5th Gear October 8, 2010 Share October 8, 2010 I'll take the Saab if the choice is just between this two models. Drive of Saab is definitely better and FC is about the same. Not sure of the Murano but the Saab should average around 8-9km/litre. If got other choices, I will take a Jap MPV, around 05 model too. If you know how to bargain, 6 k depreciation no prob. Benarsenal Turbocharged October 8, 2010 Share October 8, 2010 Another one. Both are quite good cars actually. My personal preference is Saab cos it's a bit unorthodox (not common). But I worry about future value cos Saab itself seems to be a bit unstable (as in the brand and dealership). All depends on whether they can resurrect the brand over the next couple of years. Either way, both cars are good choices.
Cheepo 3rd Gear October 8, 2010 Share October 8, 2010 (edited) I will take the Saab too. I was looking at it before I read this post, and wondering if I should .... P/S: Matoonia, a word of caution. Driving the Saab can be addictive. ; ) Edited October 8, 2010 by Cheepo
Kyrios Turbocharged October 8, 2010 Share October 8, 2010 I will take the SAAB for the rarity factor but the Nissan for the height enjoyment..see which one u like..the saab looks a bit run down though and needs a polishing makeover.

Vhtfhwlego Supercharged October 8, 2010 Share October 8, 2010 I will take the Saab too given yr age. I am less then 30 and looking at Estate rides already. SUV, unless I am a director, I then pick this due to the shine it will gather.

Vratenza Supersonic October 8, 2010 Share October 8, 2010 (edited) Thks all, I'm convinced it's the Saab, but when I called the seller, the car is sold liao :( A little fishy....IIRC...this unit have been on the market for the last few months and suddenly sold off when you decided to go for it? Don't be fooled by the "posted on" date...because I have seen a few other units on the SgCarMart keep having their "posted on" date renewed...just like some of the odometers in the hands of 2nd hand dealers... A personal experience: I was shopping for a MCSC a couple of months back just when the COEs begin to move north.....saw a single owner "Direct Owner" unit that was listed only for 1-2 days...called and was ready to place deposit if all things checks out and the person (I am now suspecting it may not even be direct owner..could be consignment) said just sold....so LLST... Luckily I managed to get myself another unit a few weeks later. But imagine my disgust when I was just surfing the SgCarMart and saw the exact unit with the exact same spec, mods and rims (I saved the screen capture and pictures from the previous posting) being listed......with a S$20K premium.... and still listed as "Direct Owner"... One possibilty could be a 2nd hand dealer got to it first in the face of raising COE premium to turn a profit at a later date.... Matoonia 6th Gear October 20, 2010 Author Share October 20, 2010 Hi guys, now that the saab is sold , congrats to the buyer. Am turning attention to the Murano, this unit in particular http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.ph...049&DL=1078 My concerns: 1. How come the OMV is so high @$40k, when a 2.5A with sunroof one is average only $30-32k. In fact the COE is higher than the 3.5L model. 2. Can the mileage be so low, only 15k per year? How to check the accident history of the car? Can get servicing history from Tan Chong, or get my own mechanic to check? Do they allow? Thks in advance ↡ Advertisement
