Citroen C4 Picasso

The local website is quite lousy http://www.citroen.com.sg/car/gc4p/ at the moment.

Do I understand correctly about these models from Cycle:

Grand C4 Picasso - is this 5 seats or 7 seats?

Dimensions from sgCM (L x W x H): (4602 x 1826 x 1644) mm

C4 Picasso (non-grand) - is 5 seats right?

Dimensions from sgCM (L x W x H): (4438 x 1826 x 1610) mm

So the "Grand" is about 16.4 cm longer externally.

C4GP is 7 seater... you can go citroenchat for more info, that is where the owners are

Just beware that when workshops see Citroen or any French car, they need to mark up on the pricing for some replacement items due to the difficulty of accessing certain parts in the engine Bay. Example, Car Battery.

I wonder if French car is still as unreliable as before?

Seems like it's getting better.  It's good news.

However, news of Renault cars are burning up recently.

Trans Cab Renault Taxi caught fire at MCE recently too.

Guess it needs more time to proof their reliability

Many factors can lead to burning up in engine bay. Being French is certainly not one of the reasons. Was the car properly maintained? Was it serviced regularly? Any recall followed up?

Honda Vezel also burned, but it was not made in France.

this is still one of my favorite car/model although i eventually bought a jap. i have never doubt their reliability and quality. design is definitely one of the best.

i think locally there are not enough trained skill mechanics and of course no economy scale to lower cost on maintenance. if you want quality, you do need to pay a bit more just like tyres.

Hi, I am interested in getting a 2010 C4 Picasso or the SX.... but what are the quirks to look out for? I understand that the model comes with a ALT4 conventional GB which is should be reliable.

Toad, cannot buy. That generation Picasso got a lot of problems. Unless u buying with knowledge of full history of the car then ok. E.g car was driven by your retired grandfather who parks under shelter in his landed and takes it out only once a month, never got into accident, only service by AD etc. Get the point?

If something spoil, need to repair $5K to $9K, and car has only 1 yr plus to go, u repair or scrap? Neither, both you lose, just bang head against the wall!

If Buy old cars, Toyota is a safer bet. Any pig or dog roadside workshop can get the parts easily and cheap! To get Citroen parts is like looking for an original art piece by Picasso.

SX AL4 though dated is a reliable workhorse and it's a must to use the original autotrans fluid.

The first to second gear is a bit quirky that needs a bit of getting used to but the rest of the gear change is seamless.

Citroen makes beautiful car but I think I will pass as I use it for work. I own a lemon Skoda thus once bitten twice shy.

Can share what is the issue with yr lemon Skoda?

Can share what is the issue with yr lemon Skoda?

I bought my 2010 Roomster in 2016  for my 11 months of ownership the car kept giving me issues,

1) Oil leaking the engine gaskets,

2) leaking heater box (coolant leak),

3) overheating at jams(esp JB ones even at wee hours of the morning) ,

4) air con not cold,

5) Ignition Coil up lorry for no reason

6) left Wheel bearings worn (this one still puzzled me to this day

7) DSG gearbox hesitate  and jerking (when warmed up, very badly between 1 - 3 gear)

And finally when I realize what cause the top 5 faults could have been cause by a Low Quality OEM Radiator fan (previous owner installed?) which was failing when I got the car.

I can say that I am sway and a green horn,

My previous ride was a ES5 Honda Civic... no much problems until its COE ended.

Turbocharged

Generally, the Japanese and Korean makes are safe. bets

My friend just traded in his 4 year old C4 fat $57K or a Nissan Slyphy.

He said spare parts take a long time to arrive - up to 6 weeks, which surprised me as this car is still sold in the new car market.

C4 was bought brand new at $120K. $63K loss over 4 years, or almost $16,000 a year. Painful.
