Hurryup Clutched October 6, 2010 Author Share October 6, 2010 Bro Ken, i am running on Civic but same size.. is V12 noisy? so many people recommending different tyres.. i also blur liaoz.. some pple swear by Neutron NT5000 some hardcore WRX drivers using them, some Integra divers say 595 Evo is good, i am so confused.. have to make a good decision coz its gonna be with me for at least 1.5 -2 years :
Ilmw 1st Gear October 6, 2010 Share October 6, 2010 so many people recommending different tyres.. i also blur liaoz.. i was in same boat around jun 2010, with civic fd1. michelin is accepted as good, quite universally, with PS2. with PS3, many users are scratching their head what michelin is trying to do, cos performance-wise PS3 cannot win PS2. besides this "unclear" product direction, michelin is also expensive relative to the market. they can do that previously, when no one else comes close. but today, it is no longer true (see car magz comparing hankook v12, PS3 and F1). and they did not update (lower) their pricing accordingly. stay well away from yokohama rubbers. 2-3 reports that wet performance very scary. to be safe, stay well away from yoko rubbers. bridgestone is a well-rounder. there're quiet rubbers, and there're performance tires; price wise they are also in the middle region. in the end, i went with hankook v12. hankook is a big company (see wiki), and being KR, guarantees low price, but v12 is one of its top models, so u r not buying s--t. @ S$176 for a 225/45R17 performance tire, it is cheap. its performance is not hardcore like bridgestone RE-11, so it is quiet, in the same ballpark as civic's stock 16". hankook v12 is not the best in any single department, but the best combo in price, performance and quietness, for me. Seanliu Neutral Newbie October 6, 2010 Share October 6, 2010 (edited) Can try maxxis i-pro victra UHP, Traction = AA, Tread wear = 240. It is quiet Ultra performance tire, near to some comfort tire like continental comfort, much quiet than Goodyear NCT 5 and michelin pilot preceda 2 . Cheap compare to all big brand, I ever use it to perform the high speed slalom (>140km/h)in wet condition this tire still did a good job , superb in term of handling and steering feedback, side wall is not that hard, so far never skip in wet and dry. Tread wear also quite good, i think can last 40000km to 50000km. MIT Edited October 6, 2010 by Seanliu
Mugen85 1st Gear October 6, 2010 Share October 6, 2010 I bought my Michelin PS3 (MIT) 215/45/17 for RM480 in JB. About 2000+km travelled. Grips well in both dry and wet. Comfortable and quiet. Threadwear of 320. Gonna last for a very long time.

Civic6656 1st Gear October 6, 2010 Share October 6, 2010 I've used up my V12 lately @ 45kkm. Good all rounder and best of all, good price @ $126/pc now for ur 205/55/16. I'm on different set of shoes now cos I like to test new rubbers.
Enots Clutched October 6, 2010 Share October 6, 2010 I am using V12 too for the last 1 yr on my Civic 1.8. Compared to the stock Turanza, I feel more confident with V12 in the wet. Dry performance wise, I feel they are almost equivalent. To be honest, I have not tried Federal 595 nor Michelin PS3; so I have no comments. Back then, I was choosing between RE001 and V12; it was the pricing of V12 that won me over. I have no regrets selecting V12. Hope this helps! Mcf777 Turbocharged October 7, 2010 Share October 7, 2010 Price is very high. Since make in Germany. Not expensive. S$215 (F1) Vs S$270 (PS3) for 17". It is still cheaper than the PS3 that TS is looking for.
7007 2nd Gear October 7, 2010 Share October 7, 2010 Currently I am using GY LS2000 215-55-17 which I have no complain at all as I paid $135 last year but now the price went up to $170@, So I am considering these: 1) V12 ($154) 2) RE001 ($220) 3) GR90 ($230) 4) PS3 (anyone know the price?) Which one should I go for??? ↡ Advertisement
