CHATGPT seems to have a smart alec answers for everything, but it do often get it wrong. Don't go asking psle math question for your kids homework. Wrong answers.

ChatGPT is smart, but can it pass Singapore’s notorious PSLE math exam for 12-year-olds?

almost finish liao lol.

I think my girl has one of the more relaxed end stretch of preparation. Likely more chill than most of her friends.

But that's cos we spent a lot of constant prep time over the last 2 years during the holidays etc.
I can be very blunt or even harsh when I see stupid mistakes (not careless or don't understand). That's why I can only teach my own kids. Lol.

Science is her weakest subject. I spent Saturday and Sunday critiquing how she answers the practice prelim papers. 2.5 hrs on 1 paper alone which she did badly in.

Seems like a good year without drama. Didn't hear many complaints from parents online about how papers are over the top so I presume it's a good sign.

I don't think anything too difficult for the math paper. My kid could do the paper 2 questions. So it just mostly come down to careless mistakes.

Simple paper might not be a good thing… I think I will feel more stress if paper is simple.

I never understood why people want all the psle math questions to be simple… it is not like previous psle math paper “difficult” question was impossible to do,

Yeah sure. In our time it was do everything and get 100 marks if possible. You can only lose on careless mistakes.

I've trained her on all the major psle questions over the last few years. I've given her all the hardest questions I know of at the non olympiad level. Some of the p6 worksheets are also pretty hard.

So I dunno.

I've been pretty ruthless in pointing out how she solve problems over the years. Before p6, I've gone through quite a lot of her working in all her assessments and try to eliminate how I see human error mistakes can be made. She's not good at spotting her own mistakes, so I simply went down the route to make her commit less in the first place.

I can confidently say that she probably makes fewer careless mistakes compared to most of her peers.

Shes a linear problem solver like myself, so not one of those strong in math. She's just not weak.

I guess the advantage of like having the same teacher for 6 years is to know their weaknesses and "beat" it out of them.

She's weak in composite figures and angles. Attack it and attack it until she's decent.

She doesn't have the natural G factor like my son. But harder worker.

Well who knows, hopefully it's AL1 in the end. If she gets a 2 she will know it's due to careless mistakes and assumptions.

Everything will be revealed on 20th to 22nd Nov.
