Like any P Sixer's Parent, this is a period of school selection after the LJ Assessment Level banding.

I noted that many parents search or checked out the schools with search like:

XXXX Secondary School Fighting eg Monfort Secondary School Fighting

Actually I did the same too. LOL

Less stress because now a lot of people are wondering so what's a 3 and what's a 4?

When results came out, everyone wondering. Previously people all knew what is A* or A.

This year pioneer batch for AL scoring, it's very difficult to gauge the COP of the school of choices, since last year was based on T-score.

This year those make it to express, 27,757,    68.4% out of 39119.

27,757 are lump into 17 catergpries from AL4 to AL20, with majority in the higher higher AL numbers. How to choose school like that when there are thousands in one AL category.

Balloting will  happen in most schools especially those average schools.

I just notice that 4 As could be 16 points, AL16 in the new scoring chart.

Another scary one is if the student score 74 marks for 3 subjects, and one subject score 64. A decent score, but he may not make it to express class.

A lot of pressure will be on this group of students who score mid 60 to 79 for their subjects. A little shift can determine if they are normal or express stream. And in my opinion, these group will cope well in express stream,

My daughter all slightly above 70s but low range. All 5s. At 20 points, choices are limited.

I feel for you buddy. Its tough  with schools cutoffs being non-nego, and kids have to go cross-country not out of choice.

Well, I gotta make the best out of the situation. So school choice must be made carefully.

Mine has only EXPRESS to choose from... no NA nor NT.

Sometimes it's dilemma, I rather send my kid to NA in a good school rather than limited option under express if AL20.

I think balloting will not be transparent too... Still, I think the previous T-score is still a better system.

Well the new system is more inline with O and A levels where each subject has a weight. Old system allows a stronger subject to pull up the overall score.
