this happen last night 3am at a bowling centre...

ws with few frieds go there... there's young couple (around 18-20) beside my lane..

then this lady say she always hit only a few pin only... alwasy lose to her bf... so angry and shout... so i start to look at them... she want to throw 2 ball at the same time.... then her bf agree....

then this lady throw 2 ball at the same time... but 2 ball hit each other then both go drain at each side...

the bf then ask her to throw one by one at next game... while her bf hold the ball for her...

so she throw one.. then very fast get the ball from her bf... throw another...

but!!!!! when the first ball hit the end... the sign (blocker or stopper) come down... then the 2nd ball hit the sign and stop at mid of lane!!!!

so this lady want to take back her ball... after talking to her bf... she walk on the lane but only after 2-3 step... she fall... then her bf go onto the lane to help her... then she call her bf to go all the way to get the ball while she wait on the lane...

all this time her bf in claw all the way to get the ball... but before both can come back... the sup or manager with few worker are there waiting for them!!!

the manager told them can get their people to help... and not walk on the lane... even their own people never step on the lane... just walk on the side... and this bf is in those jeans with lot of metal pc on it... and when he claw.... he is killing the lane... then this manager say 1 lane cost more then 20k... they want them to get the parent to be there to pay for the damage...

so a bowling lane cost 20k? so expensive?

Turbocharged

yes i recall a rich fella installed two lanes in his home in UAE.

equivalent cost is SGD150k inclusive of pins, pin-setting etc. so not impossible new flooring for one lane could be around SGD20k.

Well, I guess it must be synthetic lanes... $20k is quite cheap....

Wooden lanes will cost a whole lot more... [laugh]

It's oil, the term for making the lane slippery when they use the machine is "oiling" the lanes.... [laugh]

At least to the best of my knowledge...

A small trivial is that oiling there are a few types, different oils, and also oiling up to different length of the lanes... Some oil up to midway, typically about 3/4 of the lane is oiled.

You know when you play on the lanes after a few rounds, the hook players find it a little more difficult? Because the non oiled area has oil on it due the the previous balls carrying the oil onto the unoiled area.

That is why the southpaws (left handers) somethings have an advantage... Their side which they hook on is less utilized...

oh yah... reminds me of a lesson a old bird gave me abt oiling.

certain lanes are easier for hook players certain are not.
