Nhrisuzu 1st Gear October 5, 2010 Share October 5, 2010 I actually went there several occasions to install my struts bars, rotate tyres and other minor things. Only service once at 30k. Yup, they usually let you see what they do to your car. By observing what they do and chatting with them, I should say that I do learn a bit here and there. Try going there in the late afternoon. Less ppl during that time. Avoid early in the morning or lunchtime. Generally, they are very friendly ppl. Service very good, just that the price is a bit ex.... (e.g. they charged me around $40 for aircon filter). By the way, I'm referring to the Toh Guan branch. Thumbs up for the Toh Guan branch.. went there to change EO and some electronics trouble shooting.. they sure know what they are doing.. ↡ Advertisement
Mcf777 Turbocharged October 5, 2010 Share October 5, 2010 (edited) yup, i am a supporter of RV.. but no harm knowing more workshops right? :) based on all the questions that you had posted, i believe u have all the 101 answers in your mind. What are u trying to prove? u are just trying to differentiate the differences bwteen AS and other WS. You must have heard/seen from the TOP what AS cannot do. Why dont u list it down and let AS come in to reply your thread. Edited October 5, 2010 by Mcf777
V200 Neutral Newbie October 5, 2010 Share October 5, 2010 i have been servicing my car there since 2005. I would say compare to rv, i get better value in terms of service. However, for non toyota nor nissan nor honda, i wont recommend. There was this time, i brought my friends matrix there to change batt. Charged me 160! But as we were rushing, my friend paid up. Overall, they are good. But for spares and tyre, go else where. They also charged me 205 for 205/50/16 tyre. Checked with amk shop. Only 140. Same brand and model. Cephas 3rd Gear February 22, 2011 Share February 22, 2011 Just did my major servicing at Toh Guan branch. The highly recommended technician was there, Mr Ah Meng. The invoice indicated Wildrive Automotive Pte Ltd but on the credit card receipt is Autosaver @ Toh Guan, my guess is a franchise branch.... Resolved major issues like vibration & front brake screeching sound. Overall, it was a pleasant experience with them, Ah Meng & 2 younger technicians. Total cost : S$4XX with new front brake pads (correct size), REV-1 brand 4L fully synthetic EO & 3.5L CVT fluid for my GE6.

Hosaybo 6th Gear February 22, 2011 Share February 22, 2011 My experience with AS is not too bad..... they trouble shoot my electrical problem for me and charge me a very reasonable price. Previously my car immobiliser cannot detect me key and AS helped me to dismantle the car to check the wiring. tough job I would say and they manage to solve ot for me. their service is ok like what other bro say, certain things are ex- eg. tyres, air-con filter. Change outside if looking for better price in these items.

Header Clutched June 12, 2011 Share June 12, 2011 Not sure about other AS workshop, but I say avoid the one at Kaki Bukit. The technician tried to get me to change rear brake shoe at 40K which did not make sense...
Silvertuc Neutral Newbie June 13, 2011 Share June 13, 2011 I suggest you go AD for a thorough check-up and repair at least for the first round then later may be outside WS or else you may even pay more at the end.
Mcf777 Turbocharged June 13, 2011 Share June 13, 2011 Not sure about other AS workshop, but I say avoid the one at Kaki Bukit. The technician tried to get me to change rear brake shoe at 40K which did not make sense... why not? that depends on the type/model of car and the way u drive. I had to change my brake pad around 25-28K which is about 10-12months period
Moredhel 2nd Gear June 13, 2011 Share June 13, 2011 Not sure about other AS workshop, but I say avoid the one at Kaki Bukit. The technician tried to get me to change rear brake shoe at 40K which did not make sense... The technician could be the only one of all the workshops u visited who actually did a through check and advised you that your rear shoe needs changing. Don't think the shoes costs alot, no pt to chop you on that also. Wanna chop release your a/c gas then tell you your coil and compressor got problem. That's black shop's SOP. Have always gone to AS for servicing as the tech does what I specify. Anything more I have to pay for, he will advise me beforehand. I went to the Kaki Bukit one recently. The tech told me my car alot of things problem, needs changing. As friend's recommendation, went to source outside parts and went to their head branch to change. When the techs there took out the parts, can see really all problematic. Drive shaft boot broken, grease all over. Lower arm cracked. Mounts cracked. Bumpstops cracked. Rear shocks leaking. So I am now quite confident in their work. Car now drives almost like brand new. Tech took 1 1/2hrs to help me trace and remove my previous sideplant wiring for free in view of my upcoming inspection. Also re-did my messy wiring add-ons during my d.i.y spree nicely. Price wise I would say they are reasonable and value for money. You can get cheaper outside, but you can definitely get alot more ex too. This level of expertise for the price is definitely worth it IMO. And most importantly, I know my car is in experienced and skilled hands. Gave me a discount for my servicing done since I was changing so many parts....Actually it's more like almost free as I changed coolant, EO and ATF, they drained and replaced brake fluid, PS fluid, clean air filter, aircon filter all at the price of changing only EO. The only thing they didn't do was point me in the direction of a scrap metals dealer.
Verve 1st Gear June 13, 2011 Share June 13, 2011 i find them more expensive than your typical workshop, best is to get friend to recommend a good workshop for your make i used them to change air con filter for vios and it was almost $90! never been back since
Rncw 5th Gear June 13, 2011 Share June 13, 2011 just did 50k with autosaver...checked my brakes and found brakepads totally worned...fast hand fast leg ask them to get the pads for me as i was using bendix ultimate..only 125 (forodo)...previously done at fong kim i was charged 200 for the pads excluding labor. overall only paid 238 (servicing with own oil - minus 45 / tyre rotation, balance / brake pads and labor, plus my engin4 bay clean clean) AA members got discounts. Ringoping Neutral Newbie June 13, 2011 Share June 13, 2011 i'm quite happy with their service. Pros: Transparent pricing, follow the book servicing. Cons: Greasy hand prints marks on the exterior after servicing!
StraitsSingapore Neutral Newbie June 17, 2011 Share June 17, 2011 I just called up TCM.. the lady doesn't seem to know what she's talking about when I asked about the packages. Ask her change what she said belts and brake pads. then lidat quite worth it I thought if change every servicing... abit suspicious but I probe further and it seems they only changed once... sigh anyway i got fed up speaking w/ her... so far i read the reviews AS and Riverview seems not bad? I think will never really know unless i try myself... hope to find one that i'm comfortable with... ↡ Advertisement
