What contribution did she make to the country?

Β

I only know the country contributes a lot to the balance sheet of her law firm -conveyancing charges.

I know I will get criticised, but I have to say my views.

Β

Yes, the Lees have done an incredible amount of work to get Singapore to where we are today, but I believe that when your time is up, your time is up. Don't overstay your welcome.

Β

Great people leave on a high and with dignity, quietly retreating into the background while leaving their legacy intact. To me, it seems that LKY can't seem to let go and needs to continually 'pamper' and meddle with his country.

Β

It's like Schumacher (well sort of). If he didn't returned then he would be remembered for his great achievements. Now he has a blot on his copybook.

Β

Yes we should honour their achievements, but let's not put them on a pedestal unnecessarily.

She was the brains behind the powerful "women's charter" I think..

How does the rich and powerful die? In the same way as the pauper and the downtrodden.

You wouldnt say tat when you havent money to use Morphine when you need to. <_<

Well, to be fair, she did contributed her part to the development of modern Singapore, as Naultilus had mentioned in his post earlier.

Β

However, when as i was watching the pappies whom were interviewed on CNA about the passing of Mrs LKY, i do find their answers being too politically correct. It almost seems like she was being glorified.

Β

When President Ong Teng Chong died, the responses were seemingly a lot more toned-down in comparison.

Β

Is it just me who feel that her contributions are expected of most dutiful mothers and wives of her era?

Just heard the 630pm Chinese news.

Old man did the necessary preparation but has gone back to stay in hospital for his treatment.

I hope I did not hear wrongly, seems like old man illness is not small matter?
