I started to service at outside workshop once the first few free servicing is done for my lancer..

Dun want to be a carrot as AD is damn EX!!! :o:o

Bought spark plug, fuel filter, oil and ATF for ard $100.

Went to my regular mechanic, labour is $30 to 40 + tire rotation... save quite a bit...

Anything cheaper than this ?? can share ???

:D:D:D

Need advise...My car is still under warranty, my next servicing will be at 20k km. My question is.. the mileage had not reach 20k but the date is due. I need to cover at least 3k km to reach 20k. Should I send my car now or wait till reach 20k km? How long can the EO quality last? AD already sms/remind me to send my car. Thanks... [:/]

Common knowledge is whichever comes 1st. AD send reminder cos they only follow date, they won't know yr driving pattern. Even if u exceed mileage a bit also nvr mind, dun need die die follow exact due mileage [drivingcar]

u same like me...i also took my lancer outside ws once free servicing over cos the extras that we pay for AD servicings is stil much more than any parts or repair outside. but mainly also jap car easy to maintain outside la and C&C servicing slot was so difficult to book and takes too long for servicing. if it were a conti, my attitude would be totally different haah. [laugh]

stretching a bit is ok one as long your last servicing is not more than a yr ago.

i think some AD's r quite strict n go by the book....so if u nvr use AD servicing during the warranty period, n ur car kenna some big problem, the AD can deny responsibility n refuse to repair for u...

AD like Subaru will just void warranty once rim is changes, so it's all depend on which AD. For me I go outside.

i feel that it's better to stick to the recommendation as even if u dun use the car often... the engine parts won't be lub so frequently as compared to u using it frequently... problems might not surface so soon but in a long run would cost u more to change parts esp after ur warranty period... exceed by 1month still ok but too long not so good as ur engine oil, transmission oil and such deteriorates with time, and loses its lubricating properties

just my 0.02

Not true. Many of my friends who drive Audi end up servicing outside as Premium Auto has sold so many audis and their current servicing infrastructure are unable to cope. The servicing slots are hard to book thus my friends service their audis outside instead. guess it outside service while void warranty is better than delayed or no servicing
