yeah... vivian... took over from david lim after last elections; had high hopes for the fella, but really disappointed with the results. He's a poster boy alright, but that's all he really does. I think the YOG is the nail in the coffin for all those in the know. It all depends now how his star is shining in PMO office.

 

Liang also struggling to get noticed. Right now LSS calling the shots there, and the smaller fry like Liang and christopher no chance to shine. Anyway, that's not the citizens' problems. They are there to do the job... if they can't do it ...should step aside and let the next better player have a go.

 

 

btw...CSJ got knocking at your doors anot??? seems they going around evangelising [laugh] [laugh]

I think you may be misinformed. One's looks should have nothing to do with being a good minister.

 

I happen to know balakrishnan personally... sadly, I think he's a bigger wayang king than MBT. Really has not produced any results at all since his entry into parliament.

 

 

Couldn't agree with you more... ALL under one roof, right?

I think he should get out.. seriously... having good intentions is not the job specs; being effective is what we pay him 2million bucks a year for.

You and me both live in the same area so we know how much he's done in reality. Well, to be fair, he's not the only ineffective guy we have in that barrel of monkeys running the cabinet now... there's a hell lot of worse clowns there..

 

If u feel heartache to pay these ministers over more 2 mil each a year, how abt the fact that the whole cabinet and all the MPs get a pension for life when they stepped down from office?

 

When this scheme was started, there were only abt over 80 MPs in garmen and the payscale was not as stratospherically high as it is now. Now we have more than a hundred of them and you know much even the least of the normal donno doing wat MPs are drawing as allowance.

you are so right about the hearthache, brother!! [blush] At least if they are doing the job right, we could feel that it is being paid for a job well done... but now.... [shakehead]

 

However, I think the number of MPs still only 82 right? Not over a hundred... unless you are counting the NCMP and NMPs in ... but they would not be getting a pension, if I am not wrong.

more importantly, what are they going to do about it. generally, ppl can accept mistake provided the mistake is rectified. in this case, either pay them to go next F1 in Japan or give them next year's F1 tics, better not late hopefully.

YOG was a successful failure. Budget overshot, ticket problems, food problem, printing problems... now F1 problem. So many excuses excuses excuses. So many highly paid civil servants to think of excuses. We pay them to c--k up. What to do?

I find YOG organisers very stup**, can't believe they are government and forgot SingPost don't operate on weekends?!?! Then they will come up with such a stu*** and lame excuse like, "This was a honest mistake, let's move on"
