Rogersk8ter 1st Gear September 27, 2010 Share September 27, 2010 From Aviva website...... Q: Do you provide Third Party Fire and Theft insurance plan? A: No. We only provide a fully Comprehensive Insurance Policy as we want to insure you and your vehicle as comprehensively as possible. Anyone here still go for comprehensive even fully paid old car? I notice some companies do not hv 3rd party coverage. eg Aviva and DirectAsia. Is the reason as above or its a business decision cos not profitable? BTW, i notice those who provide 3rd party cover seems to price close to comprehensive cover. Again, to discourage 3rd party cover? Is this another case of motorist at the loosing end? ↡ Advertisement
Mini-itx Clutched September 27, 2010 Share September 27, 2010 3rd party applies only to COE cars and those who have fully paid their cars, else you can only get comprehensive. If COE car, can only get 3rd pary I think, no comprehensive. For me, mine is COE one so 3rd party. No fire and theft cause I don't see the need for it. Insurance also much cheaper. Me is with AXA. Acemundo Supercharged September 27, 2010 Share September 27, 2010 (edited) I think it is the latter reason and a bit of economy of scale. in whatever products or services you buy, most times they give discount if you buy in bigger volume. so for TPFT coverage is like you buy less item so they give less discount. i don't think it will ever be unprofitable business in singapore even if they cover only third party. in singapore more cases of third party claim than first party claim.
