Volvo S60 Polestar

Engine: 3.0-litre 6-cyl turbo, 257kW (345bhp) / 500Nm

Transmission: 6-speed auto; AWD

[sly][drivingcar]

The initial S60 Polestar is 508bhp if i'm not wrong. but it is not a production model and was customised according to the favour of an Australian.

Probably due to popular demand, Volvo has released both S60/V60 Polestar production edition. But not as powerful as the original

Volvo price very lousy. Even COE down to 70k, S60 still remain selling at 169,999.

The BMW photo not complete.

Depends on level of impact, and whether BMW was in complete halt when the Volvo hit. The front of the Volvo is higher than BMW.

In short, hard to conclude Volvo is more solid.

BMW is also a very solid car.

In fact, the BMW hold up very well too under the impact...both solid cars lah....cannot denied.

more importantly

1) are you buying from a seller directly?

2) second hand dealer

3) Wearnes approved second hand car?

if option 1 & 2 - best go for a "comprehensive" check, 50 point, 100 or 200 point with a "approved third party workshop"

esp, mileage check, etc - too many kelong stories , cars that gone for swimming / ponding lessons stories

option 3 - dun worry, just bring your cheque book down, cos you are cover for 1 yr - (terms n conditions)

Twincharged

The 2012 s60 is before the pre facelift in late 2013

No major issues generally with 2012 s60 t4 model

The usual suspension, transmission, gearbox etc

Mileage is important bec this will indicate wear and tear issues and pricing

a decent mileage for 2012 would be <50km, if>100km, please look at price

Depr of 12k/year for excellent condition is OK for s60

Those with high mileage go for depr 11k/year or lower.

So for mid 2012, pricing around 80 to 85k

Commonest reported problems for 2012 s60 is excessive oil consumption

Volvo not cheap to maintain after warranty

Otherwise a solid safe and very comfortable car  [thumbsup]

Of course if you search internet, there will always be some very unhappy owners

Thanks for all the advices.

The one that I had in mind is this:

http://m.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=575939

The only factor pulling me back is I cannot test drive the car. I can start the engine, look under the hood but no test drive. The explanation is because the car dun belong to them so cannot drive.

Also cannot bring to 3rd party workshop as the company claimed that they had carried out the necessary checks.

I expect heavy fuel consumption but not really an issue as my Skoda is a drinker too.
