Just traded in the family car and got a resale Ford Mondeo V6 MK3.

All the cars in the family have always been Japanese cars... and i know nuts about Ford.

Anyone can advise me on the following questions?

1) Mileage to change timing belt?
2) Any pro Ford workshop to recommend?
3) Anything in particular i need to watch out for?
4) Who are the stockists for Ford?

Btw, anyone has lowering springs or coilovers for the Mondeo for sale?

Thanks in advance...

Timing belt change apparently is at 120k.... but check with regent whether you need to replace it earlier.

Ford workshops are not easy to find, and Regent is actually the best ppl to service the car. However, teh pricing is a little steep as with all ADs

There are two stockists that I always go to for parts, He Xing and Hoover. Just have to google and you should be able to find it.

Hi there, my previous ride was a Mondeo Mk3 hatch.

1) Mileage to change timing belt?

- It uses a timing chain so no need to change (mileage was 125,000km).

2) Any pro Ford workshop to recommend?

- I usually go Stamford Tyres at Tuas for my servicing. But you need to go Regent for major servicing (every 20k km) in order to maintain your warranty status.

3) Anything in particular i need to watch out for?

- Look out for engine-mount bushing wear. I was told it's a design flaw.

I have fond memories of it cos I mod it quite a bit (Supersprint exhaust, air-bleed device and open-pod filter). Can easily redline on NS-highway.

It has excellent handling as well, much more so when lowered :)

Hmm, the MK3 hatch is a 2.3 or 2.0 or 2.5? Wonder if they share the same engine across all the MK3s.

I've seen a few posts telling me timing belt replacement at 120k... so im now confused too......haha

Oh i see,it is the same unit as the Jaguar X-type 2.5V6....good but heavy fuel comsumption....

Yup I've heard about the heavy fuel consumption.... guess its a trade off for the car's stability....
