Mini-itx Clutched September 8, 2010 Share September 8, 2010 http://en.espnf1.com/f1/motorsport/story/27521.html They will revert back to 1.6L Turbo engines producing 650HP and 10K RPM limit. Thats going to be interesting. And KERS is set to return to provide 150HP boost. Ground effect aero will return as well. Looks like F1 is going back to the old days. Hopefully this will make things interesting. Seriously, current F1 is simple too boring to watch with little overtaking. With cars so reliant on aerodynamics, its difficult to follow the car infront w/o losing too much downforce. Hopefully we will see more action in 2013 F1. ↡ Advertisement

Mini-itx Clutched September 8, 2010 Author Share September 8, 2010 Producing 650HP and 10K RPM limit!!! Its actually a little low compared to current engines. V8 2.4L 18K RPM limit producing ~800HP.... The previous V10 3L 19K engines could almost hit 1000HP.... But the real monsters are the 1.5L Turbo engines during the 80s. They are capable of 1200-1500HP for short periods (during qualifying). Racing is around 900HP.

Mini-itx Clutched September 8, 2010 Author Share September 8, 2010 Today's F1 is no longer a test of driver skills but mostly car ability. If the car cmi, then even the best driver can do nothing about it. Look at Schumi...... Merc this year totally cmi and he can do nothing about it......
