The beautiful cat whom frequent the bus stop near my place. Always get her way at the bus stop and no one will complain. It is fed with dried food and fresh water daily. Dont wish to reveal location as I hope the cat will be there always. I always lookout for it when I am there or walks pass.

Reviving this thread. I'm now back. All cat owners welcome again.

Our last 3 cats passed away circa 4-5 years ago, it was very painful for the family. The cats were part of us.

My Maine Coon had a massive heart attack at when he was 6 years old right in front of me when i was home

doing some work. Did CPR, pump everything, was too late, he was lump over my shoulders. He was a fur son,

close and only listened to me. Was a long spell, wife didn't want to have cats again till I made the decision to go ahead.

We now have 3 Maine Coons, 2 males (spade after 1 year for growth - Black Smoke) and a female (steril after 4 months - White)

Photos below of our 3 Coons, now 3 years old.

P.S. My Female Coon's name is.........LAMBCHOPS. :D After Shari Lewis's Lambchops....If anyone remembers.

Just have 1 now.

From 2016 - 2021, 5 have left us due to illnesses or old age.

#1 - 20 years old. Died from old age and complications from CRF in Mar 20. Her last 3 years were tough with daily sub cut and insulin injections but she remained strong and resilient.

#2 - 17 years old. A cancerous lump formed in her jaw and within 2 months, it grew so big until she almost could not eat. We decided to let her go so that she will not suffer anymore.

#3 - 14 years old. Our first loss. Same as #2, she developed mouth cancer and was suffering. We decided to let her go so that she will not suffer.

#4 - 17 years old. Just left us early 2021. His liver and pancreas malfunctioned despite medical help. Died in my arms at home.

#5 - 16 years old. She literally died from heartbreak 8 months after #2 left us. She was just so close to #2. In the end, the heartbreak accelerated the latent illnesses in her and she just gave up fighting. Within days, she passed on. But we think it was good for her. She suffered more than us emotionally after #2 left.

So just left with #6 now. She's 11 going to 12. Princess of the house.

Probably our last cat. Expended so much emotions on them while caring for them in their last days or months. Wife said cannot take the emotional turmoil anymore when we lose them.  She's probably right.

When you have pets, not easy on the emotional turmoil part, as they are also same as human, when they died quite hard to take it. This is why even though i love to have animal as pet but due to the emotional turmoil part, i never want to get one.

Bro. I know how it feels.

1. My Chinchilla Persian passed on at the vet. we were in japan and my sons went to see him. We did a live video when i reached our house in Japan, called out to him and he nodded his head to my wife and me, 20mins later, the boys told us he left. I sat in the dark outside our house for hours, smoking and thinking. He was waiting to see us for the last time before he left.

2. Maine Coon was playing happily when I was shifting my mattress at home when I went into the kitchen to get a drink I heard a loud scream, almost human, turned and saw him go lump. Did CPR, mouth to mouth., couldn't revive him, he was lump over my shoulders. 8kgs and only 6 years old. Undertaker came and said this was the first time he's seen such a huge magnificent cat. When he zipped the bag and brought him down to the van, I rushed down and he saw me, asked him if I could carry him one last time, was hoping for a miracle he would come back to life. Carried him for a long time before I could let him go on his final journey. When I went swimming in the night, twice I saw cloud formations that look so much like a maine coon in the sky, yes i did cry my heart out, he was like a son to me. Sunday came and I was taking a short nap when i felt as if his tail was brushing against my face as he would always do. I still think of him.

3. Ragdoll passed away due to cancer and renal failure. He couldn't walk due to the growth oozing with yellow pus, we cleaned him everyday for months on end. One night, my wife went up to him and said,, we all know you are very loyal and holding on to be with us, if it's painful, don't suffer, just leave, we all will understand. He passed away 30mins later.

*Sign* invoke sad moments and like I said, I know how you and wife feel. We too, didn't want anymore cats, the house felt so empty. Wife said she didn't want anymore cats. I couldn't live like that, so i got in the first 2 black/smoke coons in, both brothers, and a few months later, the white female. Say what you want now, I know it's really sad, they do bring joy to the family. My eldest son has got 3 cats in his house, my second one has SIX! Three American curls, one British shorthair, Two Maine Coons! :D

The joy they brought is more than the turmoil we suffered when they passed.

I might take in others but prob not in the near future. Maybe when I am in the last phase of my life, I might just adopt another senior cat to keep old me company. Then we can nuah together and die together. At least give it a chance to be in a proper home and be loved for at least a small part of its hard life.

A small joy in life is to be welcomed home by a cat at the door. And the feel of its soft warm fur next to you on the sofa or in bed.

Take it easy for the time being, cat people will always be cat people.
